    Content in this video is top notch. It's not often that I watch a video that long in its entirety but I was learning new stuff at every turn. This channel should have 20x the number of subscribers it does. Keep up the good work and thanks!

    Hi! great video. May I ask something?
    Is the x670e Pg Lighting compatible with Lexar ares DDR5 CL 30 6000 MTs (LD5BU016G-R6000GDLA)?
    I got that set of memory recently on a discount and I'm interested in purchasing the pg lightning mobo but I'm no sure if they are compatible 'cause in the list of supported memorys that specific model I bought isn't there, but the reference with 6400 MTs is there and shares almost everything (same chip, similar demonimation etc)

    Bro, because of your video i could finally figure out why my gpu runs in x8 on my taichi carrara. It's my f* sound card in the second x16 slot. I completely forgot about that, thank you so much :D

    • @metabang03
      @metabang03 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So worth it to have the sound card though. Not like any video card on th3 market even uses all of 8x pcie5 lanes lool. My ae-9 will also be taking 8 lanes for its self. BUT how about those 2 usb a directly hooked into the pc. That outta knock out 20-30 ms on latency. Only way to tell is to see how my "human reflex test" average, should drop. Hopefully I'll see 90-120s commonly. My old maximus ix extreme I'm happy with 140 commonly once I got my system latency down to 15-30 micro seconds. Gawleee I hope the taichi can see steady single digit system latency, with latencymon, the way this board is wired up once I optimize windows and its registries properly.

    I’m leaning towards the “Steel Legend” only thing that is delaying me is going with the 7900 or the 7950. Reading up on eco mode on the 7950.

    Well 8 layer was more common in the past than now. 12 layer motherboards were server grade as I had to repair many of them over the years.

    Thanks for the rundown, I haven't done a build since 2018 so I was a little rusty and I'm looking at switching from intel to amd for the 7800x3d so its all extra foreign to me. Sadly for my scenario none of these are really perfect. The Taichi would be great but I wish it had some more pcie slots. I have an AIC optane card and it sucks to have to axe the gpu bandwidth to connect that. Whether or not Ill ever hook up a GPU that saturates past 5x8 is its own question but still for future proofing its a shame they limited that so.
    I'm coming from a z390 dark which I love dearly, and it sucks how bad inflation has gotten the same model for current gen is 800 bucks, paired with current intel being a joke of power consumption so I'm jumping ship to amd but sounds like most motherboards/brands have some sort of controversy attached to them now.

    Hey great review. I have a question : does the steel legend mb have the a dedicated x16 bus for gpu and separated from the nvme ? Or if I put nvme it will divide and go x8 for gpu ? Thank you n

    • @GameTechReviews
      @GameTechReviews  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the x16 at the top is separate from all the nvme. Almost all X670E motherboards are like that.

    I just bought the taichi but I feel like I may have to return it. The thunderbolt connectors on the back only support iGPU video huh? I haven''t opened up the package for my taichi yet so I cannot confirm, but it seems that I cannot use a dedicated gpu for thunderbolt display? What the hell is the point then idk

    Too bad you didn't include the ASRock X670E Pro RS mobo too, because it is cheaper than the Steel Legend and half the price of the Taichi and is the only X670E mobo that has 6 SATA ports. I was shocked to see that none of the sub 500$ Asus or MSI ones have so many SATA ports without sacrificing PCI and/or M.2 Gen5. And I need at least 6 SATA for HDD and SSD drives upgrading from a Sabertooth X58 mobo.

    No one pointed this out but you said it was, "really strange" @14:00 multiple times but the other 2x pcie 4.0 is the first x4 Gen 3 M.2/SATA. 2x pcie 4 is 4x pcie 3.
    Completely agree with you on new mobo audio. I rarely ever use it but if you have a failure its nice to have and in my mind, that's one of the "add-in's" with these more expensive boards that are nice to have however most mobo makers removing most of this in current generations is a complete step backwards. A board should have EVERYTHING. Not skimp on some item because their data told them "no one uses it at this price point" cause what the data doesn't tell them is... SOMETIMES THEY DO and when they want it they want it and if its not there, see ya. I guess they'll figure that out.
    I do not and never will understand why any motherboard for a persons main computer (not a media PC) would ever need Wifi of any sort... cable to the box all day long, I don't care if its Wifi 10X. Never Wifi on your main box. To me that's just a $5 add in mfgs put on boards to charge $50 more and its worthless.

  • @raizt1596
    @raizt1596 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why wouldn't folks add the wifi chip? It's only like $30 on Amazon.

    • @Dexx1s
      @Dexx1s ปีที่แล้ว

      Because most just use ethernet. Most times, $30 can get you another board that does have WiFi if you need it. Hell, at the time this was published, $40 got you up to the Steel Legend which is a better board that includes WiFi.

    I'm torn between this Taichi, the Asus X670E-E Gaming WiFi and the X670E AORUS Master. They all have similar specs and price. What are your thoughts?

    • @GameTechReviews
      @GameTechReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on your use case. If you need the additional PCIE slots offered by the AORUS Master then that will be the best option. If you need USB4 then the Taichi will be the best option. I don't really recommend the X670E-E Strix for reasons mentioned in the X670E video for ASUS boards.

      @@GameTechReviews 1 Year later, would you still recommend the AORUS Master? Reviews seem a bit mixed on it but mostly positive on the Taichi.

    Hi there, great channel. It's a goldmine of info if you're trying to make an informed decision.
    I have a question. I'm torn between this Steel Legend and the Asus Prime pro wifi. If price was equal I'd get the Steel Legend all day, but I can get the Prime for significantly less (267 vs 334 euro Steel Legend). Is it wise to get the Asus instead?
    I know about the resource sharing of the M.2 slot wich disables 2 sata slots and it's a compromise I'm ok with. Thank you in advance for the reply, either way, thank you for all the info.

    • @GameTechReviews
      @GameTechReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think both are solid choices. The Steel Legend does include a useful GPU support bracket.

    • @SinjiKazama
      @SinjiKazama ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GameTechReviews Thank you for replying mate. I purchased the Steel Legend after asking around for user experiences.
      Let me just say that Asus wasn't winning with their bios stability at the moment haha. It's nice that the SL has lanes for M.2, PCIe and SATA that are not affected when you utilise the M.2 slots, so no disabling SATA's or slower GPU speeds (correct me if I'm wrong).
      It's reassuring to have both 5.0 for PCIe and M.2 for the future as I tend to use a system for many years. I find how they allocated the chipsets quite elegant.

    does it work with asrock thunderbolt 4 aic?

    • @GameTechReviews
      @GameTechReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, as long as the motherboard has the thunderbolt header. I'll be uploading a video showing the X670E Steel Legend + ASRock thunderbolt 4 AIC real soon.
