    1) Yes he was talking about my new piece of machinery.
    2) The lifter's the same as the Formula 4000 ones (if you see the Manly trucks)
    3) You're correct about the bin stopper, I saw them dump a couple of 240L's and it does get in the way.
    4) Thanks again! :D

Great work Mitch theres a lot of bottles and this truck is actually a back loader truck and some milk carton just fell of the side loader and the bins are smaller.

Love to see it tipping 3 cans at one time!

    Thanks mate.
Depends which truck I'm following... if it's a FL or a RL on commercial route, then I use my bike if it's available. Otherwise with residential or in cases where I don't have a bike... it's by running as hard and as fast as I can =] 90% of the time it's on foot though... I've suddenly become more fit than what I was a while ago! lol

@binmanzed These lifters are built in Australia, no relation to euro designs, but they still handle the four-wheel containers.

Nah it's a mixed stream of bottles and containers, so the residents are meant to throw all the glass, plastic and steel/aluminium cans into the single bin. It's good this way too, because the plastics and cans provide a sort of padding for the glass, reducing breakage, therefore increasing recovery.

In Waverley the garbage is weekly and the greens + recycling bins are serviced fortnightly.

Same here but before we got a second recycling bin we needed it every week and even put it out every week so the recycling truck would pick it up since the caravan park have there recycling week every week

AussieGarbo. Is there a chance of hearing damage as a result of all that glass/bottles crashing against the metal surfaces? If so, what kind of precautions are taken? I doubt very much they'd want to use hearing protectors from a safety point of view.

Over time if you're exposed to it for long enough and quite frequently there's that possibly risk, depends on the individual I guess but and how much glass is in there. Some guys opt to wearing ear plugs, but it's not something I've seen very often myself.

Where I work, our recycling lads would get SHOT for wearing shorts when dealing with glass, even in the summer lol
