Right??? I know the feeling, I have a lot more reasons to list than that which could be added to the video, But its like on the other hand there is a Bunch of reasons why I luv the guy!. I feel that the Mass hoarding of RL Cards contributes to the threat of reprints in A.E variants, and preasure from "Players" who want to use these cards, and they are sitting in some guys basement collecting Dust. It's hypocritical to complain about the possibility of reprinting reserved list, all the while taking the cards out of circulation. At some point the "Extension" becomes a Delusion, despite all the sound advice in between. Hoggs get slaughtered.
Good content for years which I enjoyed on, and off, sometimes I can't watch the slow motion train wreck. But in the early days I could replay them Credit card Tie Videos over and over again. There seems to be many patterns of behavior developing here, which helps draw attention to areas of MTG that I never would have considered. I suppose a Thank you Video is in order at some point. 🤔

See i'm a long time player/collector/seller and the issue with someone like rudy/MTG finance is their effects has effected the hobby. While alot of "older cards are actually in storage or hell shoe boxes, waiting to be found) the copies out their is overvalued or very high priced due these types. I'm competative player and years ago I wanted to get into a teir 1 legacy deck(this was before major spike that hit reserve lists stuff) and then Legacy cards tripled in price. I was going to build sneak and show then legacy eldrazi, that dream went out the window when the sports card investors/MTG finance people got involved. The only time there has been a drop in prices has been since wotc/SCG dropped legacy as main format and it made them briefly better but then commander came along(CEHD is just as bad MTG finance, hell normal edh is bad on values when something hits big). EG in newer sets or less played good cards they would "get bought out based on speculation" and only time you see them back on the market is if they "spiked then sold or needed to be shipped". Rudy is also famous for his pump and dumps, I don't know many who made money on FnB early on(MTG finance/sports card investor funded game) and even broke even after. but the guys made it and has pull, but he can't play the game is the greatest irony. MTG 30th did hurt the reserve list and your still seeing it but I mean if you "thought reserve list will keep going up and up" thats on you. Wotc future plans is to find a way to "reprint/remake reserve lists and VHTG cards", hell look at commander legends and it repinting effects.
You see This is a comment that I can read and appreciate. I too was interested in legacy builds in 2016 2017, when I saw the Rudy Dual land Videos, and realized these were going to be much more expensive in the near future. I grabbed a playset of each as soon as I could. But now I really see that the circulation of these reserved list staples is dwindling. I also don't see why people sell to him, when he doesnt pay market price, and return any cards to circulation. Nor does he play games competitively, or attend events to play. The irony is this . Rudy: " WOTC, stop trying to reprint the reserved list" cards for me and not for thee" Also Rudy "I will never stop buying the reserved list cards" This causes players who actually use the cards to demand a work around for these cards from wizards due to High price, and low circulation. Which is essentially forcing the self fulfilling prophecy to happen. I am fortunate that I started early and got copies of almost everything I would like to play and collect, but many others will not be so unfortunate. Wizards will print Better Cards than the P9 to compensate for the lack of supply, probably not any Zero Mana artifacts, that tap for mana but a zero Mana artifact that adds mana and enters tapped may be a start. There will be reserved list copycat cards developed, and not that I am a fan of the current direction for wizards , I guess you get what you can for now until it is all gone!
@@Alphonsoinvestments Spot but when I say MTG finance/sport cards investors, Unlike us that view it as a game we play and later sell it if we want to. They they only see a "potential investment", this what changed in legacy in starting in about 13-14(wotc was doing t2/modern focus). You could flip cards/stock for the decks then couldn't due prices/speculation. The elephant in the room is the "secondary market" and collectable side of the game, wotc doesn't full acknowledge the "secondary market" due certain factors. notice they do reprint fetch/shocks/staples on certain a certain schedule. "reserve list" was put into place to protect alot of original "collectors cards" to note be to be ruined by reprinting as you see in other CCGs. But the reserve list became its own double edge sword due its "nature as an investment/legacy of founding". Alot of reserve list cards aren't good but you have cards that op and staples to like EDH/older comp formats. Mostly what keeps cards like Serra's sanctum/gaea's cradle is commander, it would be same for like lion's eye diamond/grim monolith etc.
I see what you mean about the Double edge sword. I remember the original reserved list had changed a couple times, like demonic tutor was on the list, and removed, and people thought serra angel would be since she never got a reprint until 6th or 7th edition i think? The double edge sword becomes a double Loud speaker , when Speculators whine and complain about reprints, while causing the demand them selves buy taking the bulk of supply out of circulation. Hot take. Not only was the reserved list developed to preserve collectible value. It was also a game design precaution to not revisit unhealthy card mechanics. IE Black Carriage= infinite untaps for 0" All the Ante Cards, Extra game, or side game mechanics, and Money for nothing in the form of Moxen and Lotus. As if to say. Here is a fence to differ any one in the future game design from revisiting these game mechanics. Thou Shall not Pass! .! Great conversation Thanks!

I luv the personality in the early days, with the credit card ties, rudy Fina fina, and tinfoils hats. We don't see that anymore, in my opinion his personality has changed, which means to me that either he's not the same , or it was not authentic in the first place. I dont understand how a person can complain about wizards reprinting the reserved list. While buying en mass all the reserved list cards, and forcing players to demand a reprint. Id be interested to some of your honesty about this. Cheers. I can't be too effected by this , because I own all the power9, and have been playing mtg since i was a kid, and even visited the wotc gaming center in seatle before hasbro bought them. I never missed out on anything, in fact I probably got more out of the game than most people. I still play at events, Richard Garfield probably didnt intend on one person owning "All the Magic Cards" But at the Rate Rudy is going, he might just crash the market he is buying.

you have to understand . not all "lotuses" are created equal. unfortunately; wotc has achieved the apex of the lotus; and it's not the black lotus that everyone yaps about. what im talking about is functionality while playing magic. that card is the "lotus field" ; the same field that the black lotus came out of . its literally a black lotus but without sacrifice; so you use it over and over again; and it has hexproof. like i said. greatest land so far.
This is a great comment. I happen to agree, there is going to be more lotuses coming that over shadow the Black one eventually . I think there is a twiddle deck using one of those special lands to untap it over and over again. A great way to break a land that taps for 3 mana. Yobro 😀 Sad thing about Summer Magic is, there are cards in existence but they are not traded openly for the most part. So what's their price? Is it $10 for a basic land, $100, $500, $1000? Nobody can tell, there should be enough out from the boxes that didn't get destroyed, but it appears the owners only so slowly let some trickle onto the market. Folks like Daniel at VintageMagic often have some for sale, is it the same 20 cards going in circles? I don't know and didn't check. I guess that uncertainty frightens cats like Rudy.
Interesting Take. Dark Elder, I appreciate a good conversation about this subject. I have also heard that the MTG Lion Guy has a lot of summer MTG. I don't see it for sale on the vendors sites either like CK, or others, which confirms supports what you are saying. Indeed there are groups of whales in MTG, and some groups don't cross , or actually compete against one another. Maybe Rudy knows he has no position in the summer magic market, where others do? I still find the summer mtg an interesting story.

It's hard to say , best deal I found is to Buylist it to Card kingdom for store credit, but if you want cashola, hit up the card vendors at a Big event and they should give you a pretty penny for it. other than that it's hard to sell on ebay anything over a certain amount for first timers with no selling history. Sounds like someone's a bit Salty😅, they say if you don't have haters your not doing something right, I used to be skeptical about Rudy too but honestly he's a genius and I love all his content and approaches to the game or games cause it's literally just smart business maneuvers to diversify your assets, I only collect MTG but if I could have the funds to diversify I'd definitely do it and never open anything but MTG and hoard as much as possible to resell 10 years later 😅.

Will do. I guess someone has to do it. Once all the reserved list is gone, and sitting in the basement of hoarders, then I guess wotc will have to reprint them. The more these cards dwindle in circulation, the more players will demand better cards or reprints. At which point the hoarders will cry about it. Or not, they could just make 5000 $ ragavans....

See i'm a long time player/collector/seller and the issue with someone like rudy/MTG finance is their effects has effected the hobby. While alot of "older cards are actually in storage or hell shoe boxes, waiting to be found) the copies out their is overvalued or very high priced due these types. I'm competative player and years ago I wanted to get into a teir 1 legacy deck(this was before major spike that hit reserve lists stuff) and then Legacy cards tripled in price. I was going to build sneak and show then legacy eldrazi, that dream went out the window when the sports card investors/MTG finance people got involved. The only time there has been a drop in prices has been since wotc/SCG dropped legacy as main format and it made them briefly better but then commander came along(CEHD is just as bad MTG finance, hell normal edh is bad on values when something hits big). EG in newer sets or less played good cards they would "get bought out based on speculation" and only time you see them back on the market is if they "spiked then sold or needed to be shipped".
Rudy is also famous for his pump and dumps, I don't know many who made money on FnB early on(MTG finance/sports card investor funded game) and even broke even after. but the guys made it and has pull, but he can't play the game is the greatest irony. MTG 30th did hurt the reserve list and your still seeing it but I mean if you "thought reserve list will keep going up and up" thats on you. Wotc future plans is to find a way to "reprint/remake reserve lists and VHTG cards", hell look at commander legends and it repinting effects.
You see This is a comment that I can read and appreciate. I too was interested in legacy builds in 2016 2017, when I saw the Rudy Dual land Videos, and realized these were going to be much more expensive in the near future. I grabbed a playset of each as soon as I could. But now I really see that the circulation of these reserved list staples is dwindling. I also don't see why people sell to him, when he doesnt pay market price, and return any cards to circulation. Nor does he play games competitively, or attend events to play.
The irony is this .
Rudy: " WOTC, stop trying to reprint the reserved list" cards for me and not for thee"
Also Rudy "I will never stop buying the reserved list cards"
This causes players who actually use the cards to demand a work around for these cards from wizards due to High price, and low circulation. Which is essentially forcing the self fulfilling prophecy to happen. I am fortunate that I started early and got copies of almost everything I would like to play and collect, but many others will not be so unfortunate.
Wizards will print Better Cards than the P9 to compensate for the lack of supply, probably not any Zero Mana artifacts, that tap for mana but a zero Mana artifact that adds mana and enters tapped may be a start. There will be reserved list copycat cards developed, and not that I am a fan of the current direction for wizards , I guess you get what you can for now until it is all gone!
@@Alphonsoinvestments Spot but when I say MTG finance/sport cards investors, Unlike us that view it as a game we play and later sell it if we want to. They they only see a "potential investment", this what changed in legacy in starting in about 13-14(wotc was doing t2/modern focus). You could flip cards/stock for the decks then couldn't due prices/speculation.
The elephant in the room is the "secondary market" and collectable side of the game, wotc doesn't full acknowledge the "secondary market" due certain factors. notice they do reprint fetch/shocks/staples on certain a certain schedule. "reserve list" was put into place to protect alot of original "collectors cards" to note be to be ruined by reprinting as you see in other CCGs. But the reserve list became its own double edge sword due its "nature as an investment/legacy of founding".
Alot of reserve list cards aren't good but you have cards that op and staples to like EDH/older comp formats. Mostly what keeps cards like Serra's sanctum/gaea's cradle is commander, it would be same for like lion's eye diamond/grim monolith etc.
I see what you mean about the Double edge sword. I remember the original reserved list had changed a couple times, like demonic tutor was on the list, and removed, and people thought serra angel would be since she never got a reprint until 6th or 7th edition i think?
The double edge sword becomes a double Loud speaker , when Speculators whine and complain about reprints, while causing the demand them selves buy taking the bulk of supply out of circulation.
Hot take. Not only was the reserved list developed to preserve collectible value. It was also a game design precaution to not revisit unhealthy card mechanics. IE Black Carriage= infinite untaps for 0"
All the Ante Cards, Extra game, or side game mechanics, and Money for nothing in the form of Moxen and Lotus. As if to say. Here is a fence to differ any one in the future game design from revisiting these game mechanics. Thou Shall not Pass! .!

I can't be too effected by this , because I own all the power9, and have been playing mtg since i was a kid, and even visited the wotc gaming center in seatle before hasbro bought them. I never missed out on anything, in fact I probably got more out of the game than most people. I still play at events, Richard Garfield probably didnt intend on one person owning "All the Magic Cards" But at the Rate Rudy is going, he might just crash the market he is buying.

you have to understand . not all "lotuses" are created equal. unfortunately; wotc has achieved the apex of the lotus; and it's not the black lotus that everyone yaps about. what im talking about is functionality while playing magic. that card is the "lotus field" ; the same field that the black lotus came out of . its literally a black lotus but without sacrifice; so you use it over and over again; and it has hexproof. like i said. greatest land so far.
This is a great comment. I happen to agree, there is going to be more lotuses coming that over shadow the Black one eventually . I think there is a twiddle deck using one of those special lands to untap it over and over again. A great way to break a land that taps for 3 mana.

Yobro 😀 Sad thing about Summer Magic is, there are cards in existence but they are not traded openly for the most part. So what's their price? Is it $10 for a basic land, $100, $500, $1000? Nobody can tell, there should be enough out from the boxes that didn't get destroyed, but it appears the owners only so slowly let some trickle onto the market. Folks like Daniel at VintageMagic often have some for sale, is it the same 20 cards going in circles? I don't know and didn't check. I guess that uncertainty frightens cats like Rudy.
Interesting Take. Dark Elder, I appreciate a good conversation about this subject. I have also heard that the MTG Lion Guy has a lot of summer MTG. I don't see it for sale on the vendors sites either like CK, or others, which confirms supports what you are saying. Indeed there are groups of whales in MTG, and some groups don't cross , or actually compete against one another. Maybe Rudy knows he has no position in the summer magic market, where others do? I still find the summer mtg an interesting story.

i have a lotus pedal masterpiece fresh out of the pack....(prob only good card ive pulled in my life).....what is something like that actually worth?....ive never sold anything in my life either?....where should i even sell it and how much does amazon or ebay take as a cut?
It's hard to say , best deal I found is to Buylist it to Card kingdom for store credit, but if you want cashola, hit up the card vendors at a Big event and they should give you a pretty penny for it. other than that it's hard to sell on ebay anything over a certain amount for first timers with no selling history. Sounds like someone's a bit Salty😅, they say if you don't have haters your not doing something right, I used to be skeptical about Rudy too but honestly he's a genius and I love all his content and approaches to the game or games cause it's literally just smart business maneuvers to diversify your assets, I only collect MTG but if I could have the funds to diversify I'd definitely do it and never open anything but MTG and hoard as much as possible to resell 10 years later 😅.

The more these cards dwindle in circulation, the more players will demand better cards or reprints. At which point the hoarders will cry about it.
