John, thanks you my friend for dedicating so much time covering the wonderful selfless people helping their neighbors rebuild. Jake and folks like him deserve our support, so they can continue their work.
JAKE is the salt of the earth! Such a nice person. So helpful and kind. One of so many who have gone far beyond what they need to or should do. Hello, FEMA?
Great to see everyone working cleaning up after the storm getting everything cleared out and praying for everyone there in Saluda and in the surrounding areas hit by the storm. take care and have a great weekend thank you John.🙏👋🇺🇲
Thank you, John Ward for showing us all this. Its unbelievable devastation for all these folks. So glad for all the volunteer help being given. Wonderful. Prayers for all.
This Veteran has been sent from God to help these folks. He’s amazing and I’d hire him for any excavating project I had. My family has been in the heavy equipment “field” for generations. 😊
Thanks for covering Jake and his team helping the recovery. It is amazing how a skilled person can do delicate tasks with his large Cat equipment. It is sad that some people lost their houses and all the land it was built on next to the river.
How beautiful to watch you as gently as possible remove the debris from their totally destroyed camper ! God Bless you for your heart ♥ and yourself less work !
It’s horrible how they don’t talk about this on the news so those people can get the help they so desperately need…this is so heartbreaking 💔 and I pray they get everything they need to build back better
Thank you for this video. Please keep doing more and showing what is going on in that area. God bless you and your work. Also I love the music you play. It is so cheerful and uplifting 🍂🌿💐🍁
It’s an amazing thing to watch people helping people, the local government is not helping, because they know it will happen again, or at least that’s what it looks like, no one showing the local government helping in any of these vlogs, thanks BigAl California.praise Jesus Christ grace amen 🙏
It's absolutely wonderful what you ❤️ are doing. I am armchair quarter backing, but where are the logging companies? There are some huge trees that could be lifted out and hauled off to lumber yards for processing later.
That's what I was thinking. That's a lot of trees already down that could be used for lumber, which is in dire need. Make use of what is there for something good.
Thank you for keeping us informed how things are going. You have a heart for your neighbors and your kindness for them shows in all that you do and say. May God bless you mightily.
Lylagothard, I was thinking the same. After Helena here in Florida one guy with a big winch pulled 47 light poles out of the Suwannee river at the mouth where it flows into the gulf. Granted some were broken but they were taken to a sawmill and squared up into 6" X 6" post. Great for barn building!
John, I see lots of tin that Frances could use on the store's roof if there was a way to get it to her. I've reached out to Jake cause of what an angel he is. I'm hoping to find aa way to help cause the holidays are fast approaching & I know those ppl are going to be on my mind as I sit with my family
I'm thankful that most people are OK, and sad for the ones that lost their lives. I'm lucky to live in a less hard hit area of SW VA. Nobody could have predicted this, or at least they didn't. It probably would have taken a Meteorologist, a Geologist, and Topographer plus input from Locals that know the Area Collaborating to halfway predict the Dangerous flooding, landslides, and huge areas of downed trees, plus structural damage. I'm thankful for the way that Everyone that Could pitched in to Help and continue to do so. My heart goes out to everyone living there and the Businesses hard hit. Big Thanks and Gratitude to those 'boots on the ground' and the many Private helicopter operators that helped rescue and deliver supplies, and ALL that are helping in so many ways to restore access, and bring basic needs to Folks now in dire need . Thanks to people Donating, and all the acts of kindness and collaboration. I really hope everyone is getting towards feeling hopeful and loved..
Thank you for watching my videos about NC. Here is a new song about Helene; please share it with everyone you can. th-cam.com/video/JERyNjoOh2g/w-d-xo.html
Jake is a good good man! Really amazing what he is doing! Instead of asking for donations for his own for all the work he has done free. It really is so selfless! That man has a heart that is the best of man kind! Thanks for sharing!! I hope he gets overwhelmed with donations to recoup the time lost from work! One could never put a monetary value on what he has done. Hourly wages plus hope when there wasn't any is priceless! That is why I know he is doing the work of the man upstairs. Not only has he not asked for himself he asked for someone else. One class act! Testimony going on right before our eyes, in real time! God is so good! Blessings!
It seems that the trees are all hardwood, but the lumber used for building houses is almost all pine and spruce these days. They use hardwood more for furniture, paneling, flooring, etc. where the wood will be visible and needs durability.
@@ericfielding2540You can still use those hardwoods for building homes. They don't bc it's expensive. Oak for instance, once dry and sealed it will last forever. My dad's front porch is made of oak and it outlasted the treated lumber I had used for one of my own, it's been 10yrs since mine was rebuilt and his is still solid.
What people don't realize about Fishtop and the Lower Green is that is one of the best places to learn beginner skills in a whitewater kayak in the world. It is where I spent countless hours when I started out. That devastation really hurts to see......but it will recover and be renewed.
Honestly I don’t think I have seen a response from the people like that is happening right now in America- Australia needs to take note of this amazing work of the people helping each other xxx
Thank you John you got me in contact with Jake and I am donating and delivering him 2 30ft steel beams to build a bridge for a family this Saturday 11-10-24
Go helpMaggie , see the help being sent to the local areas m get ready for the next flood coming soon, please get Maggie ,, to higher property away from rivers beds,,,thanks BigAl California, praise Jesus Christ grace amen 🙏
Every thing below the high water mark , should never be rebuilt, it’s just the facts , this will flood again, praise Jesus Christ grace amen thanks BigAl California
Exactly! Hiding want shady practices or lack of response has been covered and it's time for it to be exposed and held accountable. Making up stuff or exaggerating situations isn't helping though, but exposing the bs is needed.
Does anyone know if they need people with bobcats and excavators and dump truck? Have 8-10 people wanting to help this week but no clue where to go or where to start
@torqwrench5901 especially seeing that our tax dollars have bailed them out so many times. They only want more lining for their pockets. Even interest on credit cards is over the roof. But come judgement day, all that money won’t mean squat and will just add to heat as it burns alongside them.
I am so confused. The youtuber "Living in Asheville" says that the devastation in Asheville and surrounding areas is exaggerated. She implied that people are only showing a tiny bit of the area over and over. She said people should come visit now because all the restaurants are giving away free food. She showed a free concert with people dancing, and she showed nice houses while saying these people never lost power or water. She implied all was fine. She implied that the death and destruction was greatly exaggerated. I don't get it. Was this just a little pocket in N.C where 30 or so people lost their homes? The governor says that 800 roads have already been rebuilt and except for a handful of people, everybody has access to what they need. What is the truth?
Disgusting reports. Why be negative. JOHN IS FOR REAL. This is one tiny Cove. A tip of the iceberg. I wonder how much cash that woman has donated. PLEASE FORWARD HER THIS LINK!!!!!!
If there is extra equipment hanging around and anyone wants an extra operator to assist find a way to get us in contact I have the ability but no equipment
Loved this video from 2 days ago. I have donated coats much earlier and money for a washer and dryer in a Church in another area. But Precision Grading needs support. What is his address, or give through Appalachain c/o Shannon??
If you want to support Jake, mail a check made out to Precision Grading or Jake Jarvis Mailing Address Precision Grading c/o Shannon Brookshire P.O. Box 428 Saluda, NC 28773
I have to get my debts straighten around but ASAP probably late spring early sumner i will get with my friend that owns a trailer trailer business plus get a few from him and i will donate them to some of them good people down there so they can have a home, until theirs gets rebuilt then they can either pass them on or keep them. I. I m. Sure i can get some terry models reasonable
Curious if the temporary power pole in foreground at 9:00 is indeed that or is it even working. We Texans are busy donating, praying and asking dumb questions 🤠
I don't want to say I've *enjoyed* watching your videos, but they have been helpful in seeing the things that are happening there. I have made some financial contributions to a couple of organizations, but as you have pointed out, there are administrative costs associated with them. On the other hand, having been the fortunate recipient of a GFM account in the past, I would like to point out that 100% of the contributions to a GFM account do not go to the recipient. They take a percentage of each donation as well for their costs. Also, I have a question about the GFM account mentioned here: if the donations are for Maggie, why are the recipients listed as Shirley and Cody Chamberlain? Who are they? There have been numerous warnings of false accounts set up for hurricane victims, which gives me pause here. For that reason, I'm sorry to say, I'm out. 😢

Jake will be rewarded for his humanity I’m sure. To say he’s a hero is an understatement.
God sees all, yes, he will be rewarded.
Very true, I have seen so many videos where he is working in the background- what a great person
I pray that God blesses this man richly for all he is doing to help these people in great need! Thank you sir!
Catapiller needs to step up give hand to this man. Thank you sir!

If you every wondered about the story of the great flood (Noah and all that), this should be a wake up call!
John, thanks you my friend for dedicating so much time covering the wonderful selfless people helping their neighbors rebuild. Jake and folks like him deserve our support, so they can continue their work.
The power of water and wind is indescribable.
Precision Grading is awesome
JAKE is the salt of the earth! Such a nice person. So helpful and kind. One of so many who have gone far beyond what they need to or should do. Hello, FEMA?
Awesome! Thank you John for showing all the Efforts to help the Appalachian Mountain Folk!

God bless all these people who are helping the residents that lost their homes, I wish I could be physically able to help
Thanks for covering Jake and his team helping the recovery. It is amazing how a skilled person can do delicate tasks with his large Cat equipment. It is sad that some people lost their houses and all the land it was built on next to the river.
A great video I am so sorry for the people in North Carolina and Tennessee, I am praying for you and the families in North Carolina

How beautiful to watch you as gently as possible remove the debris from their totally destroyed camper !
God Bless you for your heart ♥ and yourself less work !
The guy operating the excavator is doing an excellent job. He definitely knows how to handle an excavator.
He said on another video he's been doing this for 30 years, now. He is the owner of Precision Grading.
I agree. This dude is amazing!
Jake is great!
We'd Bet these Selfless Volunteers reject The Title HERO. Many Blessings on Them for All they have Given.
Thank you! For all your help ! God bless y’all wonderful people 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It’s horrible how they don’t talk about this on the news so those people can get the help they so desperately need…this is so heartbreaking 💔 and I pray they get everything they need to build back better
They don't want to freak out the public?
Love this guy (Francis) you kind tell is one fine man👍
Can't imagine the horror of what some of these people went through and not really a good response of help from our government shame on them
Thank you for this video. Please keep doing more and showing what is going on in that area. God bless you and your work. Also I love the music you play. It is so cheerful and uplifting 🍂🌿💐🍁
Thank you John for sharing this with us and thank you Jake for your work.God bless y'all.

Some of them fellers are much better Operators than others this fella has Skill

Could some of the big trees be milled into lumber for rebuilding? It might be worth a try
It seems that the trees are all hardwood, but the lumber used for building houses is almost all pine and spruce these days. They use hardwood more for furniture, paneling, flooring, etc. where the wood will be visible and needs durability.

Saw whereva contractor in NC charged a family $25K for tree removal on a roof. Hope he goes to jail. THESE PEOPLE PUT HIM TO SHAME!!!!!!

Get the VIN number of that truck. Then give it to your local PD or a Local PD that is still fully funtional so they can use the VIN to find the owner.
Agh that truck. just needs a car wash,a little vacuuming, it will be fine to drive down the road lol

Your awesome bulldozer crawer man with your equipment
There is a reason they are called Tarheels. Just ask Jake. If you do not know how the nickname was earned just look it up. Carolina Tough.
Every thing below the high water mark , should never be rebuilt, it’s just the facts , this will flood again, praise Jesus Christ grace amen thanks BigAl California
Wish I had the money to start a sawmill and then give away the lumber to help rebuild
Recycle all those trees
Ol dude is the truth
YOU CAN SAY WHAT EVER YOU WANT TO ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT, ESPECIALLY TRUTH
Exactly! Hiding want shady practices or lack of response has been covered and it's time for it to be exposed and held accountable. Making up stuff or exaggerating situations isn't helping though, but exposing the bs is needed.

They use chainsaw cut log for lumber mills no waste. The hoe hand good job clean up this mess.thanks video😮
its cool to see the American flags as you show the devastations. 🇺🇸

Too bad the banks & mortgage companies aren't also volunteering to help folks with so much damage to homes.

Please follow up and let us know if enough money has been raised to get these vets a new camper.
I remember all the trailers are government supplied New Orleans , where they at now?
Oh, my!! I would love to head up to help but I am 74 and my boots on the ground wouldn't help much 😢
Its notgonna be over for years. Im dumbfounded really.
Wonder if any of the trees downed could be used for log cabins. Just a thought? Sending prayers for all🙏
How many toxic waste sites got washed down the river

The federal government should furnish housing for them like they did Katrina
