  • Two phase III studies presented at the recent Digestive Disease Week (DDW) virtual meeting evaluated the safety and efficacy of risankizumab (Skyrizi), an anti-interleukin (IL)-23 therapy, in adults with moderate to severe Crohn's disease.
In this final of four exclusive roundtable episodes, MedPage Today has brought together three leaders in the field: moderator Jason K. Hou, MD, of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, is joined by Shirley Cohen-Mekelburg, MD, of Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor, and Jill Gaidos, MD, of Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, for a discussion on the encouraging findings and the possible implications for clinical practice.

Go for it. I'm 5 years along in the trial study and My Crohns in my Colon is in remission from taking this stuff. Side effects were minimal although I did develop a nasty case of tinea.

I’m getting switched to this for fistulizing crohns. Any updates on how it’s working for you OP? Or anyone with fistulizing crohns w these meds closing the fistula?

@@aurifreedman4866 I've had Crohn's for forty years. Went on the Skyrizi trial several years ago. My large bowel is basically healthy (what I have left of it) and is basically in remission due to Skyrisi. My son died at the beginning of august which re engaged my crohns (stress) and I still only go to the bathroom one or two times a day (compared to a dozen trips a few years ago). Can't speak to fistulas specifically.

I dont know about all this fancy pants doctor stuff, but tell them to use the musical version of the Skyrizi commercial cause it is very calming to the mind. Do not play the one with all that talking. Please and thank you. Now, please continue with your doctor conversations. Good day to you.
