What accommodations help your ELLs? What struggles do you face?

Love your videos! Such helpful info for a first year teacher! Sometimes the music is too loud that it drowns out the excellent info that you provide!

I am so glad I found this channel. I am finishing school and I will teach in an area that I know I will have ELL students. I want to be able to be the best teacher for them I can be.

The great thing about these accommodations is that they are necessary for some and beneficial for all! Universal Design for Learning!

I love the way you left the Bible and other Christian books up in the background. :-)

Hey! I like this video because some of these points would seem obvious but teachers don't always implement. Great video and information!

Dr. Hemphill, your mini lecture was great! I would really incorporate some of these strategies. However, I noticed that you missed one accommodation, you jumped from 10 to 12, no worries, I still got the most important info!

Google translate is not a good native language support if you're having students use it in a similar capacity as a word for word dictionary. The context of the word must be used in a full and complete sentence so that the correct meaning is being translated. Pulling one word out of context and pushing it through a translator is going to really confuse your students.
