So true what you say about new pens being more common in fakes. Chinese culture follows the new so it’s easier to find better replicas of new pens. Thanks for the tips and nice video!

So true, most retail workers are just that they are workers selling things that they don't really care about. Most people working in retail aren't experts are just people who need a job.

Hi there! I have a 2002 Meisterstuck and it does not have the Pix inside the clip. It's a real because it's from an official dealer in Fr, do you know when they started with this engraving? cheers!

thank you for this helpful video. I received a Montblanc fountain pen as a gift that I intend to sell. However, I want to ensure that it is authentic before selling it. the serial number on the pen cap and the serial number on the writing instruments guide is different. Does it mean that the pen is fake? please help, thank you so much!

The number on the warranty card could be a model number, but I don't know. My warranty card is blank because the pen was purchased in 90s from the discount store (grey market) so I can't say if yours is correct. Also as I said in the video the warranty card itself + all the writings and stamps are very easy to fake. Maybe try asking in MB forum on fountainpennetwork?

I just bought from a US grey market "shop", you might know it, it's in New York and starts with a J. This type of selling is what you specifically say to avoid. My Classique Rollerball says "Made in Germany" and "Metal" on the inside of the cap; not Pix... might be old stock? You making all the points that you made, now I have no friggin idea how to identify whether it is real (I looked through barrel with a light and it was red and I thought that was enough, a material property difference that's hard or expensive to fake -- another assumption. What does it say about us that the $50 fakes are so good that we can't tell the difference yet we are so tempted to spend 6x just for the same, cheap-ish costing object being "real!". And the stories of MB re-using serial numbers and having poor records somewhat pissed me off -- much loyalty for really, not professional record keeping, etc). So, sir, what is it you might recommend to me now? Return? Authenticate somehow? Post pictures? :) Thank you.

You might be surprised by what I say but Jomashop is legit. I bough my wife's Tissot there. They are as good as buying from the AD except you get no warranty.
