Montblanc pens are not made of solid gold. Only the nibs are. The rest is a plexiglass like plastic, hence the red hue under light. Also, 18k gold is softer than 14k, hence the higher gold content of 18k. The most I have ever spent on a pen was $1215. It's an S.T. Dupont Pheonix Renaissance fountain pen. I purchased this at wholesale through Touch of Modern. It retails at $3660. I also have 2 Montblanc pens, a Meisterstuck LeGrand Platinum Line, and a Meisterstuck 149 Platinum Line. I also have a Montblanc Tradition 116483 watch.

They did a good job of giving a brief history of the company, however, it is important to get the facts right and they made pretty poor statements in relation to the saying the pens as opposed to nibs are made of solid gold and not getting the facts right in terms of the 18K and 14K differences in hardness.

I bought a beautiful Boheme ballpoint Platinum covered Mont Blanc around 4 years ago and baby'd it. Had it slip out of my pocket getting into the car while running late to work the other day. Was instantly gone. I was in love with that thing, only real one like it retails for over $1k now. I'm so sad that it's gone, it was stunning.

It should be pointed out that only the Nib is made of gold. Most MB pen bodies are made of resin, and the 18k is softer than yhe 14k nib. Also it’s not for durability os cause gold is softer so it usually has a bouncier writing experience.
A bit of misunderstanding from this video is the fact that she said the entire pen is made out of solid gold when she actually means just the nib of the pen which is a big difference. That's like saying you have a solid gold watch where only the face of the watch is solid gold. However, in the pen world a gold nib is the pinnacle of nib construction and Mont Blanc does craft exquisite solid gold nibs.
I don't know why I liked pen when I was young. After watching this video, I like MontBlanc pen even more. Store representatives should talk about these traits to customers at the store. Number 14 is completely wrong. Most Montblanc pens are made of their signature “precious resin” with metal accents. The metal accents may be solid gold, or brass coated in gold, palladium, ruthenium etc. only some of their pens are made of metal, even most of those aren’t “made of solid gold”

I own 4 Montblanc Meisterstuck writing instruments. three pens and one pencil...my original purchase was over 35 years ago and cost approximately $350; most recent purchase was about 22 years ago and was about $600; I am pleased to say all instruments are still being used today 🤩

Guys... 18 karat gold is softer than 14 karat gold, and more valuable (due to higher pure gold content of 75% vs only 58% for 14k), so the Meisterstuck pens would be made from 18 karat gold.

My aim in writing this review is so that the video can be edited and made much better. I feel there is no good reason to point out errors or deficits (things that should be included but are not), if we cannot learn and improve. First my compliments: the presenter has a nice voice and her attitude is positive. She sounds excited about this famous brand of pen. I cannot place her accent but the first thing I notice is that nobody taught her how to correctly pronounce "Meisterstück". She pronounces it "meister STRUCK". THERE IS NO R in the second half of the name. Also the letter "u" in German when it has an umlaut - the two dots over the Ü changes the pronunciation from the way a u would be voiced in English: instead of meister- stuck - [stuck as when a spelunker - someone who explores caves - gets stuck in a narrow passage...] - when it has the ümlaut it is pronounced meister-"Stook" the u sound is narrowed, and instead of sounding like "stuck" in English its more like Peregrine Took from Lord of the Rings - meisterstook.....I am not a native German speaker but I happen to enjoy pens hence the desire to pronounce the name correctly. The second area where there is room for improvement has to do with repetition: I did not make a count but it seems that apart from the link to the mountain, the number of years the company has been in. business and the brand representative along with some of the more expensive items produced, the video repeats over and over the link between the pen and the cost. It would be wonderful if we could learn about say the differences between Mont Blank fountain pens, ball points and roller ball type pens, their refills, the inks used and so on. I think of this video as a first draft and would love to learn more about the actual pens. Thank you.
Meister struck? Penultimate? Some exclusive Montblanc pens have sold for more than a million, not just 200000 dollars. The meisterstück wasn't the company's first line, and Montblanc wasn't even the first name of the company. The reddish hue is only visible is you have a pen with their black resin, not all of them are made that way. Montblanc pen can often be defective, don't be fooled and use critical thinking when you feel something is wrong. Montblanc pens are not all made in solid gold, current models all have gold nibs however. Many fakes are adorned with a pretty convincing replica of the white logo. Oh and, bonus fact: your writing style has NOTHING to do with your personality.
I think you need to work on your pronunciation. You mispronounced several words over and over again, the most obvious was Meisterstuck, which you called MeisterstRuck (repeatedly). It is General Konrad Adenauer, not AdenaVer, as you called him. What did you call the watch at 3:59?? It certainly wasn't Nautique!! Newer fake Montblanc Meisterstück pens glow red in a light just like authentic ones and also have serial numbers and the Pix where it should be. Sad but true. They can still be spotted by know what an authentic one feels like and its details look like with a loupe.

All Montblanc pens ARE NOT made from solid gold. The fountain pen nibs may be, platinum, too. The Meisterstuck roller and ball pens are plated. Most of Their lime is plated. Their high end can be solid. Montblanc pens are fantastic! Their ball point refills, not so much.
