This is the Antique Theater of Orange, France! Every summer they make some operas here and this "Musiques en fête" is an annual event too, where they play some of the best classical music pieces like this. It's very popular!
Great Reaction. I didn't know this piece. It sounds a bit like Brahms' Hungarian Dances. And he looks like Lorde from behind? (I also recommend Tzigane by Ravel.)
There are so many variations on different instruments that are great! Mikyung Sung has a great one on double bass (with Jaemin Shin piano), for instance, but there are many others.
Hmmm, idk. The first performance was, how should I put this... unconventional. Also, it seemed like the orchestra and the soloist were not aligned here and there. Well played though.
Another dose of "Czardas"...lovely! You know, every time I hear that infectious little melody, it takes days to get it out of my head...

Thanks for revealing that. I, too, was wondering.
The second performance was very fun 🤗
You're half right, Monti was Italian. The Czardas is a Hungarian folk dance.

now the piano version of czardas would be great. It sounds amazing

I think you would enjoy Sarasate Zapateado performed by Midori Goto🙌
Oh THAT Is a fantastic performance by Midor! (With Robert McDonald piano.) An encore from her Carnegie Hall debut.
not a fan of outdoor venues for classical. my local orchestra does some of these in the summer but the outside noise is very distracting.
