Elvis would be angry if someone called him "The King"! 😂 I remember when someone yelled out "Elvis The King" during one of his concerts, he said "NO, THERE IS ONLY 1 KING AND HIS NAME IS JESUS CHRIST, I'm just a man who sings". Facts!😂 Got to love this singing man! 🥰😘😍❤

Elvis didn't look like a guy who would've said that to a fan, calling him the King. His religious statement was not to put a crown a fan would give him, during a concert, on his head.

Several stories that have been told mentioned how Elvis read all the time and the books he read was religious books. He was really interested in the different religions, confused about a lot of things but he continued to read. Even the women he dated told of how he read the Bible or books like that all the time!! He knew religion and Christ!! If his followers held signs that said “King” he would tell them there was only one King and that was Jesus Christ! So no one can say if he did or didn’t, only Elvis himself knew! I believe he did because he was so kind to people and never hurt anyone!

So why make it look like he was madly in love with Priscilla??????? The only thing that came good from the marriage was his daughter Lisa Marie. Lisa was 😢he love of his life. • @Della624
      @Della624 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

TBH, Joe's Loyalty always was with Elvis not the Colonel. Joe's job was right hand man to Elvis, close friend and Road Manager. He was the go-between between Colonel Parker and Elvis because Elvis did not want anything to do with the business side of things, so Joe would get messages from the Colonel about the business, bookings and so on, he'd pass them on to Elvis and Elvis would give him messages to pass back to the Colonel. Charlie Hodge once revealed that Elvis felt there were only five people around him that he could absolutely trust, Joe, Charlie, Billy, Geller & Jerry and I think it was proven to be a good call on his part since there have been a fair few others before and after Elvis' death (including Priscilla Presley) who's made money from their association with him and not given a sh*t if it was good stuff or bad stuff being revealed. For instance Joe only wrote books and sold his stuff because of his first wife's Cancer treatment cost the earth, but whatever he had to say or write it was always with love. Several of the others not so much, and again that includes Priscilla Presley.

I guarantee that show is part of the reason he could fill up the seats in Vegas for years to come. I love elvis's voice so relaxing & soothing especially his gospel songs. How Great tho art & Bridge over trouble waters & etc. He was the best artist ever. I also love to hear him sing shep I love that song. He was so honest & never forgot where he came from. He loved all kinds of music & people no matter what the color he was a true people person. Such a great man & individual.

He did love karate, probably because of his getting picked on for being different, they used to call him “side burns” in HS. So the self defense skills were useful, but he implemented the moves into his on stage performance along with a karate type costume making it easier to move freely. Creating that Elvis “look” by adding a belt, fringe, tassels and a cape- usually with American Eagle on it. 😉

I bet you hear that from the same people who also said he died of a drug overdose.
He was a black belt. His instructor, Hank Slomanski, was known for never giving out black belts to anyone who didn't earn it.

Amen ... I would like to share a true story with you. At a concert, some girls had a banner they were holding up and it said,
“Elvis is the King”... He stopped singing and asked what it said and he told them
he appreciated it and loved them for it, but to him, Jesus Christ is the only true King, he was just an entertainer.

Elvis had a call from God on his life. He knew the power he had. No man ever looked as
good, sang as good, or had a heart like his. No one ever had the charisma that he had,
and I think Elvis got tired of being Elvis, and God took him out as an act of mercy. He
was tired. Though he was only 42 when he died, he had lived a thousand lives.

People always look at the appearance of others, however GOD sees the very heart of mankind.
SIN destroys, everyone Reaps what they sow.
Elvis, struggled to find the peace of GOD, as he chose a secular lifestyle, and the VOID he had in later years began to show.
Obedience-draws us close to the Lord.
Disobedience-separates us from the Love of God.

I second the notion and I hope Elvis and the love of my life are and I'm sure there if I had an imagination their faces would be superimposed in the sky watching out for me all the people they loved and Carlo loved me I felt the Most Blessed of all to have loved one from which would be Elvis one up close and personal which is Carlo my Italian Prince I remember in Love Me Tender how is the end of the movie although they had Elvis die they superimposed him up in the sky looking down and watching for everyone that he loved and that's what made me think of that

The Col. Tom Parker got all of the royalties from the concert tee shirts, programs and all souvenirs from everything with Elvis’ likeness. If that is correct than Parker pulled The Biggest Ripoff in the history of rock!! It is so good to hear Joe’s memories of all his years with Elvis. This is a treasure!

I really enjoyed over all this interview. I agree with Joe that the 68 Comeback Special was when Elvis looked the best he ever did. Another thing I noticed is on his wedding day he looked very handsome. He had Charisma he had Talent. And I capitalized those two words because there's not too many people who have that combination today. He was generous and giving. I did feel that Joe lost over a lot of the areas of the dark side of Elvis. But even the news reports did at that time because everyone tried to cover it up. Unfortunately his addiction to prescription pills was his end. It made the people closest to him crazy because they could do nothing to help him. Priscilla loved him and I think he loved her too. But unfortunately he didn't see Other Woman as a downfall. And no one could control his drug use. Things were spiraling. However because of his death when it happened it made him bigger and bigger and bigger. People loved him while he was alive but even fans who never were born love Elvis. I was just about 13 when he died and I remember hearing the news. It made me very sad. But to see what Elvis has grown to today is phenomenal. I don't believe they'll be another Elvis ever.

So good to experience the man from Chicago telling it like it was. This is the best interview I've seen. Thank you Robert van Beek; I always thought of Elvis as a charismatic person and am so glad to find out that he was. We all remember where we were upon hearing of his death. That is how special Elvis was to each person. From the things I have read and seen about his life at this time, it meant Elvis was not happy. He wanted to change. For a regular person it's difficult, for Elvis it would have been harder, but still doable. My friend gave me a book about death, about what happens when we die,it's amazing, the beauty, the freedom as we go home to heaven. Elvis believed in God. I like to think that Elvis, met Jesus, his deceased family members, and he didn't want to come back, he was free, he was home. I also like to think how greatful I am that God allowed us to know Elvis, the very special person that he is. The kind loving, humble son and friend. I don't think I have ever read anything bad about him, ever. Elvis would want everyone to know he is safe,he's home and not to worry. Time is the only separation we all have between us. Eventually we will all meet again. May your soul rest in peace Elvis. Y ou are with Jesus, your Lord, savior and king.,and their is no better place to be. With love from all of us. Xxx

This was very good. Joe did very well. I cried when he did. My grandparents took me to Graceland when I was 14. It was 1995 and you had cassette tape tour with headphones then. When we got to the meditation garden where the tape spoke of Elvis’ death, my sister and I both cried. We couldn’t take photos inside so the only photos of us at Graceland were of us crying 😅 I was born 4 years after he died. Found his records in my grandparents basement and it was all over for me. Lifelong fan. Still teary from that line in the song in this video, “I’m gonna cry like Memphis when they heard the King was gone.” Wow that line really gets me.
