- the round end faster,
- the enemy team wouldn't get any kills which mean they won't get any ultimate ability orb increases,
- they saved more money because they don't need to buy any utils / guns

The first map was incredibly close, i never thought lev had it until icy looked away like an idiot on last round. Huge choke
2nd map was probably half being mentally broken/other teams momentum & half not being ready for lev on it
Losing first map takes a tol on mental usually and the pressure crepts in so performance isnt all time high for losers of first map

Yea, these teams already know how to play each others regions. It was unfortunate they went this way of the regional match up. It would've been nice if FNTC played G2, TH play Lev and Edg play Sen, DRX play Trace. Because some of these teams might not even play each other at all.
It’s actually great that the opening matches are regional because it avoids 2 regions immediately facing each other at the Lower Bracket. Plus it’s a good way to show who really is the best in their respective regions.

1) this is incredibly disrespectful to the sport, to the viewers, to the opponents and to the tournament organisers and should not be allowed by RIOT in the first place to jump off like that to deny a round.
Maybe it is actually not allowed and if thats the case, G2 should be fined.
But if this is actually allowed or wasnt predicted by RIOT in the first place, thats on RIOT.
I spoke about this potential problem out loud on day 1 of Abyss release.
2) i understand that this negates LEV of getting 1000 creds and 5 orbs for killing the G2 players
BUT i think this is literally trolling/throwing a round by G2. In VALORANT every round is winnable, every round is doable and you just robbed your team off that chance.
Not only that, LEV didnt have to use a single utility piece to win this round which saves shitton of cash, and didnt have to rebuy any shields.
If you wanted to troll this round, G2, at least do it properly and jump off after your opponents planted, so you would waste more time and make them use util.

It’s a map feature so they can do whatever they want it’s not an exploit
1) it is in fact allowed by Riot... falling off the map is the whole gimmic of Abyss so dying to that is obviously allowed.
2) in PRO matches, when they lose pistol round its really common to purposely lose the 2nd round (thats why in highlights video like this they never show round 2).
In every other map they HAVE to fight 2nd round and give the oponent 1000creds/5orbs (if they lose), so Abyss gives the oportunity to not give this to the rival, forcing a semi-buy vs a full-buy in the 3rd round.
3) relax dude, you are not the one playing, let the pros cook :)
Why would you want the opponents to plant? So they can have even more money new round? 😂
This is the same strategy as hiding as 5 and die to the bomb, without the risk of opponent earning more with easy out gear kills and planting.
