Props to them -good show. Wow!!
Remembering Paul too.
I still think that it is a shame that this tour was not a major success after getting off to such a promising start.😢
Yup but they couldn’t kick their habits so it fell on them that’s why they went back to five.
Kudod to all of them. They had their issues but took up the challenge. Well done boys! ❤ Rip to the ones we've lost🙏
Thank you for the video
Yes!
Must of been weird for David and Eddie to perform Superstar (considering it was a diss towards them) or was that water under the bridge at this point
I had always thought it was aimed at Sly Stone. There are references to his songs in the lyrics. The sentiment of this song could certainly apply to him, and his out-of-control ego (I AM a big fan, but I know he had his issues).
@@BeatPatrol2024 Oh no, that song was a diss towards Eddie and David because they made some statements about them in interviews
@@temptin_temptations I'm not sure that their comments had anything to do with this song.
As I said, the lyrics seem to apply more to Sly. There is more than one reference to his song lyrics.
Nothing seems to refer to Eddie or David.
Did Norman Whitfield ever say what the song was about ?
@@BeatPatrol2024 Yep, even Norman said it was towards David and Eddie. He was also pissed as well as the Temptations were about the comments they made to the public about them. Eddie said they wouldn't be as successful without him and said something about their re-recording of "It's Summer" sucked. David went around saying he was gonna make his own Temptations group with Eddie, Dennis (even though he was a current member at the time), and Paul once his health got better. So, they came up with this song to get back at them. Otis says this in many interviews and Temptations books. The Temptations and Sly Stone never had any problems towards each other. In fact, Sly and the Family Stone help write, produced, and played some of the instruments throughout their 1976 album "Wings Of Love."
@@temptin_temptations Thanks. I didn't know that Norman had said this.
I was not suggesting there was a problem between Sly and The Temptations. I thought of the song as advice from a concerned friend (because of the lyrical references to 'Higher' & 'Everyday People' etc).
Personally, I love them all. I saw Sly on stage in 2007 (a very strange show), but was never fortunate enough to see The Temptations.
