  • Compression vs Normalization in Audio. The two most important concepts in audio editing are normalization and compression.
    I have explained the difference between audio normalization and compression through an illustration. I hope you will understand the difference between compression and normalization easily as a beginner.
    The difference between normalization and compression can be very subtle at the beginning, but those are quite different effects.

    So normalization is merely a glorified amplification tool, and compression mediates the dynamic range. Correct?
