Nicely done, especially important was the part about being able to quickly drop your weight belt. I had to do that when I found a scuba diver's weight belt and thought I could get it to the beach. The belt I use has 5 pockets for those 2 pound weight bags. I added some of the lead fishing weights I've found on the bottom to compensate for my 4/3 wetsuit in the cold months.
joe your videos have served me a lot I congratulate you for the effort and dedication that is seen in each video. Greetings from ChileJoe your videos are spectacular congratulations for the effort and dedication that is seen in each video. Greetings from Chile
Wow, I like this belt set up. I actually want to learn how to control my ability to hold my breath whilst free diving and snorkeling. I went to website and noticed that the products and company are located in South Africa. The prices are in rand. Is there a local shop here in Florida where I can buy the set up I want and not mail order. I’m certified, I have the scuba gear, I have a bunch of camera equipment, now all I need to do is meet up with you and create some content. See you in the water…. Also, 500 grams = 1.1 pounds, for those who may not know the conversion.
If I want to buy the bright weight belt do I need to buy only the weight belt and the weights or do I also need to buy their weight intergrated straps?
Hey joe, im real self concious with being shirtless,im new to snorkeling and the freedom of underwater has been zen. I seen many of your viseos wearing like a compression hoodie long sleeve top underwater?..is that a swimsuit top hoodies? Just looking for a top that i can use for beach days too.? Please let me know wear i may find ones tou recommend
They are called a rash guard. Get one that has an SPF rating so it will block sun. If you want with a hoodie then search spearfishing rash guard on Amazon
@@JoeOceanside thank you so much sir! ..i did not know how important a wet suit keeps you warm! My son freezes in the Florida springs and he can't enjoy the rest of the day because he gets real cold. Do 2mm keep you warm as well under cold waters especially Florida springs treated at 72° or do you recommend 3mm always.
Ok im not advanced snorkeler but the water I plan on being in maybe my chest line. But deep enough that I can't interact with the bottom. I want to do some under water metal detecting. I was going use a weight belt. In this situation do you think it is ok to still use one because I would just have to remember when in a emergency stand up lol
This has to be one of the best vids on weight belts. Emphasizes safety first and honest. Thank you.
Thank you, glad you liked
rubber belts are superior to nylon
Great video! Very cool weight belt!

Nice video Joe! about this weight belt, What is the maximum bullets weights support? I saw in the video that you use 10 bullets weights, thanks!
Good video thanks
I'm waiting on it to warm just a little... I do have a dry suit ordered so my dry days are limited.
Wow dry suit, where are you diving?
Very informative for the people wanting to try the underwater world
@@JoeOceanside I'm located in ohio right now
@@divingwithscubasteve where do you dive up there?
@@JoeOceanside about 45 min from Cincinnati
Thanks but consider using Kgs as well for non US watchers...if you dive deeper ...rubber weight belt req.
A weight belt is needed to compensate for the extra bouyancy of a wetsuit especially if you want to be able to dive a few metres down.

just make sure you know how to release it quick
How much weight is in each slug??
1/2 kilo (1.1 lbs)
Very sad that there is no such brand on Bali...
Hmm my bones are hard as a rock... What does it change tbh..
Uhhh…isn’t this called freediving?..
No! i would not wear this belt. i cant swim!
