Shower curtains for me; the curtain rod crashed down LOUDLY and my parents were pissed. (I think when they turned to leave, they were trying to keep a straight face.)

It was you guys making THIS VIDEO that gave me the confidence I needed to actually do it and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. I'm the strongest & fittest I've ever been (which isn't saying much, lol), I've done things I never thought I'd be able to do, and made some lifelong friends along the way. Thankyou for being hilarious and real and showing me I didn't need to be amazing to start - I just needed to start!
I was doing this in classes for a few weeks this summer ( had to quit due to personal issues) and after each class your feet, hands, thighs, and back are bruised like crazy
Ashley Rule lol your skin starts to toughen after a little bit just make sure you get a teacher that understands that when it started to hurt you need a break. After each class we always were able to just be in a cocoon like position in the silks to relax. It's mostly the vertical vines that hurt.

I have be doing aerial silks for about a year and a half and I am 13. I've moved along quickly where I have already learned a double star already. I have watched this around 5 times over 4 months. I love more every time. It's fun to watch people that have never done aerial before try it. My family did silks one time and they all have trouble win at least something. However on a different note you guys did great and it would fun if you did pole dancing or silks again even, whatever it is I think anything aerial would be hilarious and amazing. No, definitely not a tree! Rigging from trees has the potential to be super dangerous (drops put a lot more force on the rigging than you'd expect). The silks are hanging from a metal frame made specifically for aerial rigging. You can see the legs of the frame on the edges of most shots.
I absolutely love aerial acrobatic shows since I was a child, and when the guy with the hat was able to do the second trick with the pencil think and then being able to spin, I found that amusing and very good

Generally the weakest link in an aerial set up is the human body, which can only take 1800 lbs of force before a person will black out and bleed internally. The fabric is a close second, most will take a catastrophic tear at about 2000lbs of force.
You should probably know they are called silks before you buy one.... and you need to take classes from a professional before you can just go out and buy one for at home. There are some safer and better ways of getting into another trick. Like in the straddle back they did(the one when they went upside down) they used a kind of cheater way to get into it. They can be dangerous if you do something wrong.
