I don’t know if you’ve already passed through or not. It’s pretty easy. The hardest part can be the other boats tying up next to you and then being able to communicate with you in English.

Also watch out for the line handler’s throwing monkeys fist or even lines on to your solar panels.

We have gone through the Canal already. We were tied to a monohull so Fabio steered for both boats. Overall it was great experience with a few tricky moments. 😊

Thanks for the heads up! We put foam on the solar panels to protect them!

Great video! I make yogurt all the time on our boat, but I have a less power intensive method. I use milk that is not UHT or filtered, the Instant pot just like you did for the first heat up, the I let it cool to 110 degrees, add 2 TBSP yogurt with probiotics or yogurt from your last batch of yogurt that you made and put it in a container called Yogotherm. You have to hold the temperature. You can also put it in an oven with the light on, but no temp wrapped in towels so that it holds the temperature overnight up to 24 hours depending on how sour you like your yogurt. I strain it using a colander with coffee filters to make Greek yogurt. I also freeze the starter yogurt in ice cube trays so all I need is milk. I hope this helps you. We have really enjoyed following your journey. Thank you.

Thanks so much for the tips! I’ll give this a whirl soon because the power consumption is intense. Great idea to freeze the starter! I thought it might kill the probiotics.

Very interesting and great driving skills. I like hearing all the radio traffic and ins and outs of what you are dealing with

Looks like an interesting marina to hang out with, at least while you were there. Glad you were able to head home for a bit before the BIG EVENT! :o)

Shelter Bay is good for all things Canal related but everyone tries to get in and out because you definitely pay for the proximity. It was great to be back home, to get boat parts and see friends and family. It’ll probably be a while before we return.

Wow… lots of process ! Must be with lots of stress. Yes it’s the busiest honorary canal in the world!
Taking relaxation is ideal way to wait a big thing!
Enjoy the great moment as you always do😊
We are keeping our fingers crossed for you guys 😊

Well, the spot on your lens is definitely not a spot of milk, so I'm guessing it may be a fly or something similar. It seems like an interesting adventure to get to and transit the canal. Good luck with the transit, which I'm assuming you've done by now. I hope the filming of that went well and I look forward to seeing that next week. All the best cheers

🤣🤣 Thanks for playing along! We actually have no idea what it was. It’s really tough to keep the lenses clean when swapping. Especially the zoom lens shows EVERYTHING!
We have transited the Canal which was a really cool experience. We got to do it in one day!
Thanks so much for watching and your comments GB Sailing!

@@HarborsUnknown hey that's great. When I change lenses on my cameras, I put the lens and the camera very close together. I unscrew the lens and camera caps either half undone awful Young done but I don't take them off completely then when I'm totally ready to do the change, I remove the camera cap and remove the lens cap. I always turn the camera face down when I remove its cap, either, resting it on the table, where I'm making the change, or on my lap, if I'm not near a table. Then I'll bring the lens to the camera, occasionally, I will check it for dust with a dust brush handy, but mostly not, then I turn the camera up and put it on so that they are only unprotected and apart for four or five seconds. Glad you had a good transit. And I hope this helps.

How come you can’t trust the track. Do you have redundancy in tracking so you can compare. Enjoy your videos. 😊

    • @HarborsUnknown

The space between the reefs is narrow and only a few feet could put us on the rocks especially not knowing how close to the rock was our original track. We felt more comfortable using real time data and visual input. Thanks for watching 😊😊
