  • This may or may not bring to mind Sigourney Weaver with a big freakin' gun. We're back at tech-death, and over-clocking the organic processors in our heads just to keep up!

Legendary tech death veterans right there. Too bad they stopped before I got really into their music. Great pick! 🤘
I recommend Worm Shepherd - The River ov Knives. It's breakdown is INSANE!

Hideous Divinity, much like Fleshgod Apocalypse and Antropofagus, is one of the "Hour of Penance offspring" bands, founded by at least one ex-Hour of Penance member.
Hour of Penance have released a handful of GREAT brutal death albums, the two best being Paradogma and Sedition:
-The Vile Conception (2008) - the beginning of their golden era, setting the standard for Italian death metal
    -Paradogma (2010) - a classic
-Sedition (2012) - their most melodic album
-Regicide (2014) - solid, but has some fillers
    -Misotheism (2019) -what a comeback!
Also, you should read the lyrics to "Apparition" - the story telling is surprisingly great for a tech death band!!!

I heard Misotheism from Hour of Penance, it was just incredibly brutal and fast all the way through as far as I remember. But I didn't hear any of the other ones. /Andrei

@@thewindmillfullovcorpses I recommend Paradogma (classic of the genre) and Sedition (my personal fave, and their most melodic album).
My very first brutal death band, alongside Dying Fetus.. takes me back to 2010 😃

That whole album is amazing. I've been spinning it regularly since it was first released. It was a sad day that the band decided to go on "hiatus", but maybe they'll pull an At The Gates and reappear a decade later after their work gets the recognition they deserve.
I do love a lot of Swedish death metal, but Spawn of Possession always holds a special place in my heart that puts them above the rest. Anata would be a close second, but that band is even more dead than Spawn of Possession.
Spawn of Possession has been doing the tech death thing before anyone even called the genre "tech death" and were surely some of the biggest innovators and masters of that early scene, hence your comparisons to old school death metal (like Death) were rather apt. They definitely also have a blackened vibe to their stuff too, but, most of all, I would say they compose more akin to what you see in classical music than rock or metal. Anata, too, has this in common; I guess being part of the early Swedish tech death metal scene they definitely influenced each other.
If you're interested in hearing some Anata, I would recommend the songs "Any Kind of Magic or Miracle", "The Conductor's Departure" or "Under a Stone With No Inscription."

Haha, the love for half dead bands seems somewhat problematic! But yeah this definitely felt like "old school tech death" if you will, which was oddly refreshing! Thanks for the info! Cheers! / George

Just found out your channel and I love your chill vibes and actually interesting takes on the reactions!
I noticed you do gaming OSTs reactions too from time to time, so I have 2 recommendations:
Daredevil from Persona 5 Scramble, bass and guitar riffs for days!
And also Mechanical Rhytm from Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, which is pretty heavy metal with some orchestral hints thrown in the mix.
PS: The cover image for your youtube channel is sick!

The beginning of the song sounded like the soundtrack of an old black and white horror movie.. I don’t know why I had this feeling🤣
But when the song hit it hit hard!!! I really enjoy what I just heard! It does have a little bit of a black-ish vibe, that was really interesting!

I was thinking about a band (quite old now) named Sybred that released an excellent album called "Slave Design" and i recommend you to listen to the opening song "Bioactive". Recently I've listened to their discography and that's by far my favorite song from them.
