Cain coverage is super appreciated! I’ve been wanting to play it p badly but as a forever dm i usually wanna do as much research into the game as possible! Would love to see an episode on running the game from a DM’s standpoint :)
We should doing an episode where we design a hunt. I have only been a player so far, but I have pretty good Idea of the basics of a hunt. Hopefully you it will help you run your game!
For the 'erasing memory of others and themself' part, the zine "Games For Freaks" that has a thing called Virtues you can get bonds from that give some optional extra customization and powers, and for this the Virtue called Hope can give you abilities that have to do with erasing the mind of others (or yourself if you overdo it), even passively if you develop the bond strongly enough.
My Lancer group was looking into Cain for maybe Halloween game, thank you so much for covering it! Would love to hear more ☆ glad this is how i found you guys
It's me! I'm the guy who knows what Fullbringers are! (Cal Kestis from the recent Star Wars Jedi games would also be a good reference for the power. So much of the story is him using Psychometry to see memories by touching objects. No idea if Calvin would get that reference either though).
I really liked the lore and world of CAIN, but I didn't vibe much with the system... I'm a fan of GURPS-like RPGs so maybe it's just 'too simple' for me, but I would totally recommend to someone that wants more roleplay than game (along with WoD 'storyteller' system)... I still want to do a 'test run' of the system later, see how 'mortal' it really is in practice (I really dislike those 'hardcore TPK rpgs' so I hope not as much as it sounds in rules)
Its not really that hardcore, but more like your character will not come out of a hunt unscathed, there isn't really ways to gain back resources and every action you take you are probably are spending something to try an get the edge, because you stack against the odds. Never played a gurps-like ttrpg before.
@@WinWithDice when I say "gurps like" it includes M&M, the idea that "you buy every little power your character has" and is a bit more rule-intensive... but yeah I understand, I'm just afraid CAIN is going to feel more like a tabletop with RPG elements than an RPG... but even if it is that, it can still be fun! I really enjoyed talisman and zombicide~

Thanks for covering Cain again. Love seeing more coverage on it.
They're doing more! Super exciting.

I think it more likely. Calvin is pretty new to anime.
