I had one of those vans in blue back in the day. (Yes, I'm a bit old now.) It was surely a novelty item back when I was a kid. As far as the construction goes, it's basically a slot car that was designed to run on the rails. So, the performance is to be expected for the design due to its small size. I would like to say as a novelty it, it did help to pique some interest in the hobby even though they were not the greatest runners.
Great video Dan I'm glad to see some of those are running I've got maybe two of them maybe three but I'm not totally sure. If you ever are looking for parts I might have some I'll have to see what I've got in my stockpile

I have the UP Bus and the Amtrak High Cube Van. No, they dont run well, but when they do run, they are cool!! I also had the Handcar.
