- On the opening day of Tioga road I head up to Tuolumne Meadows for a spontaneous overnight backpacking trip to lower Cathedral Lake. My fishing luck finally turns around as I catch some beautiful Brook Trout. I'll enjoy a fantastic dinner at one of the most scenic lakes that I've ever camped at!
Hope you enjoyed, thanks for watching!

Really enjoyed the fishing footage and cooking too! You eat well’. Ha! Reminds me when you were a kid and how everything you ate was was “delicious!” 😊Just a great job on this video and thank you for promoting compliance with wilderness regulations in Yosemite national Park!
Great trip, and I’m truly enjoying your entire channel. Brings back lots of memories as I did this hike October of 2010.
I'm very glad to hear! I'll always be a big fan of the Tuolumne Meadows area and the high country around it. So much more to see!
Really beautiful spot where you camped! Glad you had some good luck with your fishing as well! Take care and see you on the next one!
Fishing in June sure beats fishing in April! I was most likely one of the first people to fish lower Cathedral Lake this year.
Awesome little trip sir. Keep em coming mr outdoorsman
Will do! Thanks for watching
I like the map insets!
I do too! The Relive app is really neat
nvm i have been shamed
Why 100’ from the water?
Great question! It is a rule in Yosemite to camp 100' from water sources such as lakes or streams and also 100' from any main/popular trails. The reason for camping away from water (I believe) is to preserve water quality and to help wildlife reach the lake without running into humans. When it comes to camping near the trail its just a better experience for hikers to not have to walk right past someones tent to continue their journey.
Still waiting on the collab between @XL Outdoorsman and @vicscrappyvideos
I'd be honored!
