She's my bias but at the same time I hate her because I think she overshadowed the other members. It's that even possible to love and hate a person at the same time? Because that's what I felt about her. I'm weird right?

So maybe in the earlier days her and the olderline overshadowed Handong, Dami and Gahyeon but luckily that isn't the case anymore. All three of them have gained an insane amount of confidence and stand out rightfully in their own ways, even on live shows you hear Gahyeon alot. Dami is pretty quiet as an idol but it's obvious that she'd getting more fans for her skills, her first line in Boca brought more fans for sure.
Yoohyeon and Jiu were the ones who stood out the most in initial mv's mainly because they were treated as centers I guess and Siyeon had the most lines except for 'You and I'. I think their company did that because of the drastic change from a cute to a badass concept and with the addition of 2 members. Sua while she had less lines ,she lead the dance. Dami raps, so her time was shorter compared to other 4. Gahyeon and Handong back then were the newest members
My guess is probably to let the members get used to the concept and to slowly fit in Handong and Gahyeon as their fans initially were Minx people. But from Piri onwards, they started to be more fair to the other members with Gahyeon rapping and Sua slowly changing to vocals. If that happened immediately on redebuting , people would have been less accepting since they wouldn't realise how adorable she is. Maybe that's why.
Then they gained about 3 times the fan after ' Deja vu' ,so for scream, they gave time to shine for Gahyeon and Sua. Rose blue was Jiu and Gahyeon era. Boca was mainly Gahyeon and Dami era . Then when Handong came back , she got more lines in Odd eye as compared to before. Odd eye was Siyeon, Handong and Yoohyeon era.
I do think they treat Yoohyeon as a center for the most part,she usually in top 4 for each era placement and top 2 in vocals count.
Maybe her puppy like and free spirited nature is the main reason. In most kpop groups , they have that one member who gets iconic parts because they have that special charm ( not stage presence, it's more like a vibe they unconsciously give out even before debut) . For example, in Twice it's Sana. In BTS, it's Taehyung, In iz*one it's Sakura. Their company realised that and made her an unofficial center.
But honestly all members in DC are equally talented and have their own special features other than the obvious talent for singing, dancing or rapping
Jiu - the way she moves , intelligent conversation ( there is something extremely attractive when she talks)
Siyeon - Stage presence personified, the offstage cute persona
Sua - intense on stage, offstage -that one hyper friend who makes everyone smile or the living version of happiness
Dami - Turning everyone simp for her by simply existing
Gahyeon - those eyebrow raises and those smirks will kill me one of these days . The peach version offstage.
Handong - confident savage queen and elegance personified.
