Oh my, I just read about the baby. This came from The Daily Mail, The baby is recovering in the hospital after he was accidentally dropped in a Bondi beach car park and knocked unconscious. The family was enjoying New Year’s Day at Bondi beach on Sunday when the eight week old baby accidentally fell from the arms of a loved one at about 7:10 PM. If you Google Bondi rescue reunion: lifeguard Anthony ‘Harries’ Carroll reunited with the baby, he brought back to life on New Year’s Day. There are photos and video of the reunion.

I’ve watched this episode a few times and I cry every time. You and your team are amazing. That baby is going to live such a full life. I also wish I could pull the parents out and give them each a huge hug. Their distress broke my heart. 💔
As someone who has had seizures before, the lifeguards here did the proper thing to do in the first situation. Getting the man into recovery position is a priority since it prevents the victim from choking on water and to an extend, also prevents the victim from biting their own tongue as well. Incredible job done by the lifeguards.
Just finished watching season 17 this morning, what a season! People don't realise that when you've had a seizure you often enter something called a postictal state for some time after, which can make you irrational, angry, aggressive, confused, or dazed. You're not behaving like yourself.
@@DarinaLyathe best thing to do is provide calm, gentle reassurance. they will likely be belligerent, confused, and won’t respond to your kindness necessarily, but you are responsible to keep them from further hurting themselves (getting in vehicle, running, cooking, using knives, walking near roads). they might get very tired, that’s normal, get them water, soft foods, and blankets (electric nerve pain from seizures can feel very cold from what my friend has mentioned). symptoms will actually continue for a whole day- think of it like a hangover. in the immediate aftermath, though, safety and caution of a second seizure is top priority
Watching these rescues everyday makes me feel like life gaurds need to be recognized more than what they are! Amazing to bring a infant back to life with quick thinking! Great job Gentlemen ❤
In Uk. I was young teenager and couldn’t swim but went out on a lilo (inflatable mattress) with a mentally handicapped friend. I realized we were trapped in a current and wanted to paddle back. She didn’t, we capsized and I went under twice. We were rescued by two medical students and my only stupid reaction was to tell my rescuer he still had his glasses on. I was too shocked and embarrassed to even thank him properly. I learnt that even teenagers need to be made aware of danger, and that thank you is the first thing to say.
