    I have two chihuahuas, my parents have 4. All of them behave like normal dogs. They are not agressive. Love other people. Small dogs are not toys. They are living, independent creatures. People should be very careful and think a lot before they decide to take a dog. It's a huge responsibility. Well raised chihuahuas are wonderful dogs❤

      Same in our house hold, we have three Chihuahua's (all rescues) and they do not bother anything. That's the problem, some people don't see getting an animal as another family member. Chihuahua's will always be my favorite breed.

    I adopted a very aggressive mature chihuahua. Spent years teaching her manners, resocializing her, and showing her that I’m the boss. She died at age 18. Happy, secure, and no longer a biting terror. Chihuahuas are not accessories, they are dogs. They need discipline and security.

    How could someone give away a 15 year old dog. His mom and dad were his whole world. When you adopt an animal, you are making a promise to take care of it for the duration of it's life. You don't get to abandon them because you got knocked-up.

    • @Zeldafan1ify
      @Zeldafan1ify 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      This.
      A person I used to be friends with is always announcing that she's giving away her 11-14(?) year old dog and it's just plain cruel no matter what she says or thinks. She has no valid reason other than "it gets sick every now and then and the medical bills are high, plus my parent doesn't want to be responsible for her either", yeah they're pretty high when you're someone who doesn't bother looking for a job. No one ever messages her for the dog but she continues to try. It's so sad. She's had this dog for over 5 years, why she would put a senior dog through that trauma is beyond me. Meanwhile, I've had my dog her whole life (she's a 9 yr old chi) and I'd rather die first before I ever dare to think of giving her away.
      I had to give away a rescue once, one that was only in my home for a few months, and that broke me. I will never comprehend anyone who just abandons their pet like it's the most normal thing in the world

      Our Yorkie/Biewer will be 15 in August. We adopted him from the shelter when he was 2, and we can't imagine being without him. He has to be on heart and liver medicine, a special kidney diet and ointment for dry eye twice a day. He's got cataracts, and he's fussy about his food, but he's our baby. He sleeps a lot, but he still trots all the way to the park and back. He loves his treats, and he's still interested in the ladies. ;)

    I’ve adopted dogs with health and behavior issues. I work with them to be balanced and healthy. People need to understand that dogs have personalities and feelings, they’re not just objects. When you leave them at a pound they are scared and confused. Unless you’re willing to take care of them no matter what, why get them?

      I lost my husband September 13. A month later Benji came into my life. I was walking my corgi terrier mix and found a Chihuahua running around on three legs in traffic. He came to me when I whistled followed me home. I took him to get scannes. Was told I could take him to the shelter. The shelter said the vets would only fix him up if they felt he was worth it. I said you can't have him. So I have my last animal in the house. He is a food dog. His name is a gift from the people who abandoned him.

      @@charlestinsman965 Don't be a limp brainer. Your grandmother didn't have a clue about dogs, and ended up making hers a terrified one. When an intruder comes into a home where a chihuahua lives, it will scream-bark while keeping 2-3 meter distance. And that's kinda the purpose, alerting loved ones about intruders, so the alerted can react.

      Large dogs have a scary reputation but really they dont deserve it, in the UK the dog with the most dog to dog and dog to human aggression is statistically the dachshund. These small dogs get spoilt and then they grow up into these yappy savage things

      Molly Bellingham for a trainer to remark on how bad the aggression is in such a young pup would suggest this dog has been wound up and possibly mistreated as generally speaking aggression is learned speaking

    • @basstrammel1322

    Here's a tip. You walk into a room of a new dog... if your goal is to reduce their stress... let them approach you. Let them initiate physical contact. And cut back on all the chatter.
    Chi is acting like he has canine PSTD. He has not been trained or properly socialized. Why does she "love" this mean tiny dog so much? Is it possible she was not handling/teaching/training/exercised/socializing him the way a Chi needs to be handled. It's why they love being with other Chis they match their energy level. They are more reactive than any other breed. For instance giving him affection when he was acting aggressive? Excessive handling/kissing/ teasing and invading their space? Unwittingly encouraging aggression because he is "so cute, and I love him so much" he can act any way he wants? Chis #2 euthanized breed after Pit Bulls and that is why. The lady that took him gave him exactly what he needed. He didn't "perish from owner's lack of knowledge".

    Seriously that little chi hasn't been thaught any manors or discipline at all, that's how allot of them get all snappy and agressive (especially with owners who don't know much about dogs to begin with). After two years she realizes it's a DOG, yes a DOG, not a baby. Treat them like dogs and they will behave like any other dog.

    • @methosimortal
      @methosimortal 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really annoys me when owners say they treated a dog like a baby and he got aggressive. part of being a parent means teaching your child discipline, rules and boundaries. so if they actually would treat their dogs like you would a baby, they have pretty well behaved dogs.
      what they actually mean is that they put no effort in socializing or teaching the dog anything and instead just petted him once in a while, when they felt like it and ignored him the rest of the time. that's called neglect ... for both dogs AND babies.

    I have never heard of a Chihuahua being so aggressive that they can actually put a human being's life in danger. So the fact that they're actually considering to put a Chihuahua down is shocking , this is a 3 4 7 pounds dog seriously!!How much of a threat can an animal that weighs this much and is this small b to a human being? I think this is a little bit ridiculous, I have never heard of a Chihuahua having to be put down because they're that aggressive. I don't know about that.
