@@JoseHenrique-xg1lp yes, for the first couple of albums. Later on he switched to hummies (because of all the buzz and feedbacks). But here they played the old stuff, which was p90. As for trebble booster, you need something with wider range, as his was modded for this. So the sound is fuller.

He played riffs in a variety of positions based on the songs set and what strings he had for live play. Thicker strings and he'd play the riffs he could on the higher strings so as to deal with less tension on his fingertips when playing for prolonged periods.

Tony used P90s most of the time until about 1975. His tone and equipment varied quite a bit throughout the years. During the 80s he used Marshalls and even Mesas. Then his 2000s-2010s sound is his high gain signature pickups and signature Laneys.
He also often uses a very short delay engaged all the time to make his sound fuller. Not to mention his technique with vibrato on power chords and lots of trills. And extra light strings!

I was wondering why this sounds like a guitar plugged straight into a Gorilla GG-25 amp. The sizzling 80's style harmonic distortion is not like Iommi's toothy, fuzzy tones. I think a pat of it is the volume they are restricted to, and that they are using transistors to get the gain as opposed to heaily overdriven 12AX7 preamp tubes further overdriving the EL34 power amp tubes.

Rabea, at 1:25 you are absolutely right. Iommi played a '65 SG Special with P90s for much of the classic era Sabbath. There are a few tunes that Iommi says were recorded on a Les Paul or an SG Custom, but most of Sabbath, Paranoid, Masters Of Reality, etc is all P90 goodness! With as much gain and fuzz as Sabbath had, the difference between that and PAFs isn't going to be big though.

interesting approach to recreating sabbath's sound, I think it was pretty close. in the early years Iommi did use SGs with P90s, he switched to humbucker-ish pickups in the mid-late 70s at the end of the Ozzy era. he also played in standard tuning before master of reality, that record onward was when he started detuning. he obviously used laney amps but I saw something the other day about him actually using the bass channel and would cut the bass back, idk how accurate that is but sounds like it makes sense. the treble booster was used for overdrive and overall boost left on all the time until someone threw it away in 79, he used other boosters since then to try and get close. he used other amps to record with such as marshall and vox in the studio. sometimes he would substitute the laney with mesa boogies during the 80s and there are some photos of him using an orange. he did an ad for sunn but it's unsure if he ever actually used them. his main pedal has been a wah but he experiments with other effects all the time

But to me these are pretty niche and don't represent Sabbath as most people know them. If you're going for a more classic and well known Tony Iommi sound you'd likely shoot for things like the Black Sabbath, Paranoid, and Masters of Reality albums. My personal favorite is actually the Live Evil album with Dio as there is just this bite and sinister nature to the guitar sound, it's especially present on the Black Sabbath track for that album and the intro for it is really cool too.

Tony's tone is actually incredibly bright he would use the Treble, mids, and presence on 10 the bass on 0 and no gain it was all from his Modified Dallas Rangemaster which didn't cut all the low ends and he would play through the bass channel the heavy sound comes from his playing style and the bass following the riff. During Sabbath's last tour he didn't use the Laney TI boost he used a TC Electronic Spark but now he uses a custom vintage Dallas rangemaster. He did use modified P90s on the first few albums but he uses Custom Jaydee SG and the pickups are technically Humbuckers but they have 18 magnets and are as bright as his old P90s the reason why they are humbuckers is because with the Treble booster it would pickup so much buzzing it was unplayable at times.

It can go between full Rangemaster, clean itself up and take away the distortion in the Rangemaster, and you can also add some of the other frequencies back in like Iommi's modded rangemasters so that you can get the thicker/fuzzier distortion tones.
