The reverse pillars were new to me. Thanks for the tip! (although those nubs violate the fiber of my being, lol) Now I challenge you to start doing some of these builds in survival without flying, and to give a tutorial on that.

Don't know how you got the pillar trick to work cause it does absolutely nothing for me. It just works like normal pillars, you destroy them and then you can't place ceiling. Also it is very hard to follow your vids at the speed you've set them at.
at 5:50 you talk about and show the start of a balcony, with two ceiling tiles outside of the dinosaur gate. could you show us with more detail how you did that? I'm working on a similar build and am having problems getting anything to work for placing tiles outside of the gate the way you did it.
I did miss one step that I didn't actually record. What you need to do is to the following: From the pillar that sits in the middle of the gate, build down. Extend ceilings outwards from that pillar, and snap a wall underneath the ceiling. This allows you to place ceilings halfway out from that wall, which will line them up with the gate. Same exact method is used here at 6.38: th-cam.com/video/-o1cDVLfOZE/w-d-xo.htmlm38s . Those sections are exactly the same as the balcony, except I don't extend them 2 ceilings out :)
Is there any easy fix to the "can't place ceiling, no nearby foundation support"? Do you HAVE to build underneath the platform with pillars and ceilings too? For you to be able to place the rest of the ceilings on top? I am almost done with my base, but I cannot close up the ceiling as it keeps telling me there's no nearby foundation support and IDK what exactly it wants. I have plenty of pillars down & I have tried laying foundations on the main floor of the cliff platform, but it does nothing for the ceilings.
Hi there, you should not have to build underneath the platform as well - the plattform works as "ground" for structural integrity. The most common issue with this is that your building pieces are not connected properly, so the pillars/foundations have no effect for the place where you want to build your ceiling. Hard to tell without screenshots but if I had to guess that would be what I would check. One other thing is that you cannot place ceilings on walls that do not have a pillar/regular foundation connected, so you have to make sure if you build from walls that are standing on fence foundations that you have a pillar also connected to the fence foundation or else you will get this message. For all speedbuilds, it's tricky, as some ppl like it fast and some like it slow - but here's a tip (at least of you're watching on a computer): You can change the clip speed under the little cogwheel - set it to 0.5 or along those lines or whatever suits you - see if that works better? :)
Sitharias good to know, I watch it on my phone or tablet, I wasn't talking bad about wut you do just so much happens to keep up or try to follow along with, I love your builds and understand the speed build just trying to understand the tricks of the build mechanics so I can build like that someday
I'm sorry but wheres the speed? My grandmother builds faster... its actually... very impressive, I've never seen anyone move that quick in Ark pretty sure she specs only into movement speed AND like hacks the game or smth its actually crazy

That's is absolutely amazing! I'm building one currently, but getting ceilings and walls to not clip into the cliff face is... Challenging.
