I think Haikyuu is one of the only anime's in which I've supported "the antagonist" teams. All the characters are so we'll written that you end up supporting everyone and want none of them to lose.
I was so sad when Date High lost to Seijō D: I really wanted Aone and Hinata to have a rematch! Here’s to hoping Haikyū won’t stop before they get that chance the following school year!
Nah mon, Sena Kobayakawa developing the conviction to find his aggression in american football after all he has ever done was running slamming kongo agon making him absolutely and positively eat shit and dirt is where its at
I'm honestly so surprised that anyone was able to make volleyball so hype. I only ever saw volleyball as one of those sports that have a team that always needed players during high school.
It’s been years, and it still haunts me. Every silence is replaced by the chilling cries. Every night before I fall asleep. I close my eyes, and it rings in my ears. “SHI! RA-TO-RI-ZA-WA!!! *clap clap clap clap clap!*”
@Cold Violet So I realized this just this week and: Hisoka's seiyuu also voices: Oikawa (Haikyuu) Young Hohenheim (Full metal alchemist: Brotherhood) Arima (Tokyo ghoul) Kei (World Trigger) dude has range
Tsukishima's block plus his reaction afterwards was the best moment of this series for me. And it was game deciding as well. All the build up, the emotionless towards volleyball, but naturally gifted Tsukishima, overcoming his deep frustration with volleyball. The dialogue was also fitting like a glove. If you know the context of the situation, there isn't a scene in sports anime that includes such an amount of positive emotion. I always come back to this scene every so often. I dare to say it is really a classic, iconic moment, but all in all still underrated.
When Tsukishima wants to give up and behind him Nishinoya chants "Koi" (come) under his breath. Great inspirational and emotional highlight of what 'tenacity' looks like.
No reviewer or reactor ever mentioned this but at the end of the match, Shiratorizawas's coach asks the assistant if Hinata is the same height as him and then says that he will probably still grow more which implies he still wants to deny Hinata despite Hinata proving to him that it is possible to be excelent player even if he is not tall and strong. I really feel bad for the coach because there are a lot of good and talented players in any sport as long as they are children and not fully grown but when others grow 20cm and they don't, they quit sooner or later because they lose motivation and see no point in training hard to beat taller guys. I experienced the same thing, but in reverse. I am the only one still playing volleyball from my former team and it probably helps that I am 194cm tall.
People grow at different times yes, but a tough truth in sports and life is that some people no matter how hard they want it or work for it, they can never be as good as some others , and worse of all for some reason even two people who physically look about the same still one cant seem to acieve what the other can (i guess some genes and things that intangible i was never super big or strong in wresting yet i was team captain and would beat teammates who tried way harder and longer and i would still beat them , then wrestlers from other school could beat me and not even show up to practice! Why this is good genes yeah, but something else that is hard to define
I fear I might not enjoy season 4 just because the coach's VA will be different. His voice was perfect for the character. Little bit of childish but there is a grown up touch as aswell.
@@whoaminot well, relisten two last episodes of season 3. The original VA ended filming at 8th episode. :) THe last two episodes are voiced by the other actor. :)
Haikyuu to me is like watching a real match of any sport that you like where you cheer your team with all of your heart. If your team wins you feel happy, if they lose you feel their anger and disappointment. I can’t tell you how many times I jumped out of my seat out of excitement, shock, and happiness. Thank you Aleczandxr.
@@TheStantriX98 how is that a problem? It breaks the cliche of good vs bad that is very dominant in shonen anime. It presents a grayer point of view where someone isnt just good and bad, which is more realistic because everyone has their own motivations and the viewers can decide which team's philosophy will they support not just authors telling them support this team because they're the good guys.
@Manuel Sacha You're asking about season 4, I presume? :} They announced that it's in the making, stating that there will be some kind of seiyuu event on 22nd of October 2019 (if I remember correctly. also, maybe it's not a seiyuu event, but it _is_ some kind of event, not a date when the next season comes out). @Manuel Sacha nah most likely they wont stop animating HQ the series sells well last year and the manga keeps topping the charts, in short, it's very active. Imo the gap widened bcos they let the manga get ahead, story wise, before they start the anime again
Coach Washijou is the first opposing coach that I really like since other animes just brush away coaches and feels invisible. He has a large role for Hinata in the latest chapter.
Tsukishima's arc is amazing and the climax of this arc where he lets out that scream of passion for the victory he had for a successful block is probably the best a show has ever been at evoking emotion out of me. I literally cried because it was built up so well and the climax was so beautifully animated. It's still hard for me to watch that scene without getting choked up and getting goose bumps.
1) Happy holidays! SEASON 4 HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED FOR 2019!!! 2) Just because this video isn't about Seijoh, it does not mean that I don't think Seijoh is great. Some people seem to think so for some reason. I love Seijoh but Shiratorizawa is more interesting to talk about as a team in terms of structure and thematics. 3) The Oikawa video will be up in March. Right now it is only available for Patrons upon request. 4) I talk about how Ushijima is a “force of nature” character here, but note that I don’t want to make it seem like Ushijima has nothing to him. His growing annoyance with Hinata as the game goes on gets pretty engaging, and the story behind his reason for playing volleyball is simple, effective, and gets the job done. But my meaning here is that his consummate professionalism, simple characterization and unrelenting power contributes to this force of nature feel, and the overall impression is as such.
I think is beautiful that Washijo, despite not liking Hinata from the beginning, it's the character that has more expectations on him. After nationals, he expects Hinata to be successful and to amaze everyone with his abilities, something that Washijo couldn't do

cman977 you have a good friend, believe me if you’re a sports fan you will feel like watching a real match and keep cheering your team with all of your heart
Never in my life I thought I'd see volleyball as poetic as this anime makes it out to be, so ya better believe I can sit down and listen to someone talking about Haikyuu!! for minutes and hours on end, especially when I already loved you for your FMA videos. Seijoh VS Karasuno is, to this day, the match I was most emotionally invested in, but this video made me properly conceptualize and recognize what makes Shiratorizawa such a great "Big Boss Battle" for Karasuno, lmao. I thank you for that. Now, learning that you have an Oikawa video, like... considering I have once sat with a friend and waxed poetic about that beautiful bastard for quite nearly an hour, let's just say I can barely wait for it to be made public, haha. Thanks for your awesome work!
Great video man. I decided to go back and rewatch this match again, and it hits just as hard the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th times around. Furudate does such a great job of building the world of teams around Karasuno, that by the time you get to the matches and those teams are expanded upon even further it tends to add so much more tension & stakes to the volleyball itself. He truly is a genius, and he's written such a masterpiece with this series.
this has been on my watch later for a long while but i finally got around to watching it and i must say, it's beautiful. i completely agree with you in every aspect, and you really reminded me why i love this show so much. karasuno's entire journey as a team and as individuals is something incredible to witness, both in the anime and in the manga. great video
I somehow got teary-eyed as this video approached the end and showed that final point all-in synchronization... I'm at a point in life where I'd love to improve an aspect of me as swiftly and vividly as Hinata and Karasuno did, and it just cheers me again and again when I watch the show... Thank you for the great analysis.
ok just saying, i got my friend who had written off anime to watch this. within the first 2 episodes he was interested, within 5 he was hooked. we just finished season 1 and this is what i just said to him over discord: anyway, Shiratorizawa is represented as an eagle a single, powerful eagle but karasuno are represented by a flock of ever evolving crows and you know what a flock of crows is called? a murder >:3
I've watched Haikyuu 5 times now (only 3 times including season 3). This video just convinced me to watch it again. S3 is by far the best 10 episodes of Haikyuu, but you can't just go into S3 while skipping the buildup, so I have to watch it from the start. Let the YOSHAAAAAAA's begin.
Great video as always, great pace, great narration and you always pick up interesting details, best anime channel i've ever watched, no clickbait, no crazy theories, only great analysis that help the viewer understand better the message behind the story. Great job
Ok but the fact that Tsukki's block and that scream was where his true love for volleyball began and it carried him on to (MANGA SPOILERS HERE) play professionally once he reaches college like please tell me did ANYONE expect that in season 1 and 2-
My all time favorite anime and yes, i have seen all the classic like fma, aot, hxh and read monster, 20th century boys, vagabond and so on. Haikyuu just does it for me
Wow this is exactly what I was thinking and telling my friend a couple of days ago I didn't enjoy this season as much as season 2 but I still loved it The way the shiratorizawa characters were used to somewhat reflect the growth of the karasuno characters was brilliant. Oikawa is still my favourite character though
Incredible video man. Always love hearing anyone's POV regarding the opponents Karasuno take on and you did an amazing job talking about it. Looking forward to seeing hopefully more of the greatness from you in the near future! Cheers
That is a brilliant video! Gotta say never tried to look into the depth of the story to much as I enjoy the tension the passion and the volley mostly but damn it certainly feels way deeper than I first thought now...
god i love my boys. especially tsukki and oikawa and kageyama and lev and kenma and just abt everyone, but shiratorizawa is such a well written team, and my two faves, kenjiro and goshiki, are such well written characters. my god the writer of haikyu is a fucking genius god damn. especially during tsukki’s scene. like tsukki has always been in my top two faves but that scene made me love him so much more and it’s written perfectly. i dare say it’s one of the best scenes in sports anime.
Christmas came early! Great video! I love when you talk about series like Haikyuu!! that don't see as much light in the community. Happy Holidays and keep up the good work!
At first i thought i would dislike Shiratorizawa vs Karasuno since the Seijoh/Aoba Johsai was such a fight that would have fit a final round but damn was i wrong. This wasn't only rivalry but a clash of ideals, something that makes a great story. Lelouch and Suzaku from my favorite anime code geass was so good because these two believed in those ideals (ironic since their ideals was what the other achieved) Shiratorizawa who wants one driving force that cant be stopped vs Karasuno who has multiple weapons
An underdog team beating the best team of the region.i love haikyuu as no one expected this to happen and the reaction of the spectators and news reporter was worth watching.they depicted it beautifully that a group of crow can even hunt an eagle
OMFG, hunter x hunter, durarara and Haikyuu all within a week? And it was my birthday when the pariston vid came out! Thank you so much for the amazing gift!
I liked the arc, though I think it's insane that one game took an entire anime season or 39 manga chapters. I looked into the release dates of the first and last chapter of the arc, 17 months to finish...

you should watch the series first since this is a BIG spoiler for the series.
This is the only anime, where you actually like almost all the characters, even the opponents team.
Everyone is soo unique.
Do it!!!!!
Just hearing the background - Haikyuu has some of the best music I've ever heard in anime.
It's by the same composer as HeroAca
True... All of the soundtrack are lit. From s1 to s3 i can't skip the OP and ED...My expectations are high for S4.
Tsukishima MVP
That celebration gets me every time.
Finally caught up on Haikyuu, now I can enjoy these videos of yours. HYPPEE!!!!
Aleczandxr is single handily the best anime analysis channel out there. Another great video!
Thanks!
Cheers, and I totally agree!
watched this season like 10 times but still gives me chills /goosebumps
so did ur video
thank you
keep up the great work
Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed!
Shiratorizawa is my favorite team in the anime
same
Been waiting on a high quality analysis on haikyuu
For anyone wondering: Season 4 will be announced at Jump Festa this weekend and come out next year in 2019.
I'd LOVE that.
this has been on my watch later for a long while but i finally got around to watching it and i must say, it's beautiful. i completely agree with you in every aspect, and you really reminded me why i love this show so much. karasuno's entire journey as a team and as individuals is something incredible to witness, both in the anime and in the manga. great video
Thanks!
That’s awesome to hear, thanks so much for watching!
You've done it again. You've made me love a show even more even tho i didn't think that was possible for this one.
Awesome to hear that!
Ushijima was like the Jiren of this season.
F jiren
Thank you ! A video on haikyuu, best christmas gift you could make :D
Thanks for watching!
I was having a rough day and this REALLY helped me. Thank you for the phenomenal content 😊
ok just saying, i got my friend who had written off anime to watch this. within the first 2 episodes he was interested, within 5 he was hooked. we just finished season 1 and this is what i just said to him over discord:
anyway, Shiratorizawa is represented as an eagle
a single, powerful eagle
but karasuno are represented by a flock of ever evolving crows
and you know what a flock of crows is called?
a murder
>:3
RenMomo lame
I've watched Haikyuu 5 times now (only 3 times including season 3). This video just convinced me to watch it again. S3 is by far the best 10 episodes of Haikyuu, but you can't just go into S3 while skipping the buildup, so I have to watch it from the start. Let the YOSHAAAAAAA's begin.
Good to see some love for Haikyuu
I'm praying that we get a season 4 announced at 2018 Jump Festa
We need more great Haikyuu!
It's been announced
Finally season 4!!! 2019 is going to be awesome
Your dream has come true
Great video as always, great pace, great narration and you always pick up interesting details, best anime channel i've ever watched, no clickbait, no crazy theories, only great analysis that help the viewer understand better the message behind the story. Great job
Thanks very much!
@@Aleczandxr You're very concise in your reviews. Almost like an English professor, but in a good way.
Btw, I like English.
I love you analysis of anime’s, you always bring me to a new realm with the way that you think
Always happy to see your content.
Always happy to see Hype'kyuu.
+1
Thanks pal!
Its just a video essay but why am i crying?
When daichi flashbacks as during his freshman year, and then saying 'we gotta go now',
Ok but the fact that Tsukki's block and that scream was where his true love for volleyball began and it carried him on to (MANGA SPOILERS HERE) play professionally once he reaches college like please tell me did ANYONE expect that in season 1 and 2-
You're good at this.
Doesn´t matter how many times I have seen Nishinoya defend Ushijimas spike on the ground... It still brings tears of joy and goosebumps
My all time favorite anime and yes, i have seen all the classic like fma, aot, hxh and read monster, 20th century boys, vagabond and so on. Haikyuu just does it for me
Its crazy how much buildup Shiratorizawa got compared to the ones in the manga now
Wow this is exactly what I was thinking and telling my friend a couple of days ago
I didn't enjoy this season as much as season 2 but I still loved it
The way the shiratorizawa characters were used to somewhat reflect the growth of the karasuno characters was brilliant.
Oikawa is still my favourite character though
Incredible video man. Always love hearing anyone's POV regarding the opponents Karasuno take on and you did an amazing job talking about it. Looking forward to seeing hopefully more of the greatness from you in the near future! Cheers
Many thanks dude. Really appreciate the kind words!
Dude you’re in depth analysis on these animes are amazing
Thanks!
2:30 hits so hard now with the recent manga chapters... you hit the nail on the head
I love your videos about Haikyuu. Everything you say is gold.
That is a brilliant video! Gotta say never tried to look into the depth of the story to much as I enjoy the tension the passion and the volley mostly but damn it certainly feels way deeper than I first thought now...
Thanks!
god i love my boys. especially tsukki and oikawa and kageyama and lev and kenma and just abt everyone, but shiratorizawa is such a well written team, and my two faves, kenjiro and goshiki, are such well written characters. my god the writer of haikyu is a fucking genius god damn. especially during tsukki’s scene. like tsukki has always been in my top two faves but that scene made me love him so much more and it’s written perfectly. i dare say it’s one of the best scenes in sports anime.
Christmas came early! Great video! I love when you talk about series like Haikyuu!! that don't see as much light in the community.
Happy Holidays and keep up the good work!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed and happy holidays to you too!
And fitting to your video we just got a season 4 announcement!!
HELL YEAH.
“You should have came to shiratorizawa”
Am I high or did Aleczandxr upload 3 VIDEOS IN ONE WEEK
Maybe both?
3 videos in almost a week? I love it when Santa come early :) Happy Holidays m8.
Happy holidays!
Haven't seen your videos lately but I sat down down to watch this one and I'm pretty happy to have watched this one
Why didn't you interested in the Pariston video?
whenever i see them win, i always get chills 🥲
I finished watching all of haikyud seasons in 2 and a half days and waiting for the next season and ur video caught my interest.
This match will definitely go down as one of the best sports anime matches in history.
An underdog team beating the best team of the region.i love haikyuu as no one expected this to happen and the reaction of the spectators and news reporter was worth watching.they depicted it beautifully that a group of crow can even hunt an eagle
I love Summer and Winter for many reasons ;one of those reasons are the increased consistency of your videos
I love those seasons too.. partly for that reason as well :)
OMFG, hunter x hunter, durarara and Haikyuu all within a week? And it was my birthday when the pariston vid came out! Thank you so much for the amazing gift!
Thanks for watching and happy belated!
I liked the arc, though I think it's insane that one game took an entire anime season or 39 manga chapters. I looked into the release dates of the first and last chapter of the arc, 17 months to finish...
Jake Rosendahl haha it’s not as bad but imagine how long the match between Inarizaki will take
damn did not expect you to take on this anime considering what you've covered in the past. awesome work!
Thanks!
I'm on a Haikyuu video binge and loving it.
Your videos are always so damn good bro. Always excited to hear what you have to say about anything.Your perception and in-depth analysis are always interesting
Much obliged, man. Appreciate it.
This was such a well done video. It explains everything beautifully and gets me really pumped up for season 4. Thanks ;)
Thanks! S4 hype!!!
Great video! Just finished Haikyuu, and I’m really excited for your Oikawa video, as he is my favourite character.
Thanks!
I really love your videos. The amount of information you spread is incredible
Thanks, glad you love them!
Love your videos and admire the work you put in every single one of them.
Please more Haikyuu videos cuz it is by far my favorite Anime and I'm glad to find people enjoying like me.
Thank you! I have one more Haikyuu video planned, you can check the pinned comment for more info.
