I think Xebec’s story is kind of like the Kozuki samurai. After Kaido raided wano, teamed up with Orochi, and the certain Kozuki went to the future, they gave false stories to tell the children at the school. They made the Kozuki samurai seem evil, but really and truly Orochi was the evil one. I think this is the same narrative with Xebec, he was doing good, but he was made out to be evil by the falsified story of the World Government.

I thought Kuma was the only Buccaneer at the time but I was mistaken! This means Rocks has the blood of a giant! So much foreshadowing. Like The punishment of the Buccaneer race, Buccaneers link to Joyboy, Luffy’s Gear 5 ability that turns him into a giant, the giant Strawhat that Imu preserved and the Strawhats heading to Albalf. So many possibilities to Joyboy, the Will of D and potentially the giant race! Back in 2007 Oda explained that a pirate with an eye-patch will appear in the final phase of One Piece. What if that pirate is a flashback of Rocks?!

I don't think Xebec was someone without a deep goal, his character has a significance to the plot moving forward... But he could be one of those anti-hero type, or it depends on how we view the situation, Xebec could be the harbinger of destruction from one POV, or a savior in someone else's eyes. That said, he could've experienced enough loss, got fed up, and stop playing the nice guy character, but deep down, he's doing it for the greater good. Even if it mean he has to be enemy #1. It was clear that the Rocks Pirates came to the island specifically for the devil fruit powered they were informed of. I like the idea of the D clan having two sides to it, really plays into the whole “Those who bear the initial D, will live a checkered life” thing. While it could come as a surprise if it’s revealed that he wasn’t 100% evil, simply because the World Government loves to paint all Pirates as evil sea dwellers. But again this is Rocks D. Xebec we’re talking about here, a highly ambitious man who wanted anything and everything all to himself. Built himself a crew that was as powerful as they were disloyal, with each willing to kill one another if it meant they get to advance their own agendas. In fact, in order for Rocks to even build his overpowered crew he had everyone on Pirate Island compete in Davy Back Tournaments just to see if they were even worth his time. Even going so far as to inspire Blackbeard to become a world conquering menace (whether directly or indirectly)…and BB is one evil conniving son of a bitch. But regardless of how you slice it, I can’t picture Rocks doing anything for the benefit of anyone other than himself.

Honestly, I think Gol went to God valley to hinder Xebec's crew from getting more power and ended up finding Shanks, who was a prize for possibly being born from a slave. Garp was there specifically for Gol and ended up teaming up against Xebec because his version of a new world might not be great either. I honestly don't think either Garp or Roger cared about protecting Celestial dragons at all, and the story of them protecting the Celestial dragons was only put out that way to prevent people from knowing about the hunts. I do think Garp knew about what the hunt was, but I think he was trying to change the government from within, and unlike Kuzan, he never gave up on that idea. I still don't know if Roger knew beforehand about how cruel Celestial dragons were because he acts a lot like Luffy and Luffy didn't know shit about the world government until life forced him to with Robin. Maybe this is that moment for Roger. I mean, do you really think a guy who would "kill" his crew for stealing and hurting civilians would be willing to save Celestial dragons for their own sake?

I suppose this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. When we first learned about the “God valley incident” the part about the celestial dragon’s hunting people for sport was completely erased. The incident had to have a villain and Rocks, having the strongest pirate crew of the time, made the perfect scapegoat. He could be accused of being a monster and no one would question it even for a second.
yeah, especially since back then, they made it look like rocks and his crew attacked some celestial dragons and garp and rodgers intervened, not only was that not the real issue, but the celestial dragons themselves were committing mass murder, rocks would actually look like a hero in front of the victims.
I did believe that what Rocks wanted to do with the Celestial Dragons may sound noble & good, I don't think that he really had any intentions to save the slaves. Which may be the reason why Gloriosa, WB, and the other Rocks Pirates didn't try to vanquish the world nobles on their capitan's behalf.
If Xebec is still alive then it is possible we have met him at some point and did not know it. They have not shown his face and it would be funny if it is a character that is so unlikely to be a threat but is actually much more dangerous than you think. For example it could be Kureha as someone who might be Xebec or even a member of Xebec's crew. She knew about the will of D and she is much strong than she appears. She is also able to live for a long period of time despite being human. It is possible it is because she is a doctor or it might be because of an entirely different reason. Again it is an example but Oda has a habit of introducing us to characters that do not seem important but turn out to be much more important down the line.

Ace never met his father, Rogers. Remember, Rogers was executed near his birth. Ace was raised by Garth. Garth most likely told Ace of Rogers' exploits, but being a marine just stated the bad things. I don’t believe Xebec was a great guy im pretty sure he’d be the type of guy who would wipe out anyone in his way. As in where are the filler episodes, are there any episodes that are “skip able”, where do the movies come in and when to watch them, also this might just be a preference but is there a “remastered” version of the first season(s) I’m just not a big fan of the old animation style but if not I can still watch just curious?

To give Garp and the Marines credit if recent events are anything to go by even the Fleet Admirals are often kept in the dark about what the Celestial Dragons are up to outside of "blockade and protect this area at all costs" outside maybe a few chosen units that I imagine serve as an elite of honor guard directly under the Knights. You can have several evils in the world, buying for power. It is just so happens one beats them all and gains all the power. It does not mean that new evils will not ermerge to try to take over the one evil in charge. Xebec was just another evil trying to destroy the World Government, the one in charge, and become the new evil in charge of everything. That is also Black Beards' plan.

I still like the theory that Xebec is still alive and is the man frozen alive in Impel Down. Its a stretch I know, including the fact the world government would execute Rogers and Ace but not a pirate like Xebec doesn't make sense, but it feels right to me. Honestly, I think Gol went to God valley to hinder Xebec's crew from getting more power and ended up finding Shanks, who was a prize for possibly being born from a slave. Garp was there specifically for Gol and ended up teaming up against Xebec because his version of a new world might not be great either. I honestly don't think either Garp or Roger cared about protecting Celestial dragons at all, and the story of them protecting the Celestial dragons was only put out that way to prevent people from knowing about the hunts. I do think Garp knew about what the hunt was, but I think he was trying to change the government from within, and unlike Kuzan, he never gave up on that idea. I still don't know if Roger knew beforehand about how cruel Celestial dragons were because he acts a lot like Luffy and Luffy didn't know shit about the world government until life forced him to with Robin. Maybe this is that moment for Roger. I mean, do you really think a guy who would "kill" his crew for stealing and hurting civilians would be willing to save Celestial dragons for their own sake?

I suppose this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. When we first learned about the “God valley incident” the part about the celestial dragon’s hunting people for sport was completely erased. The incident had to have a villain and Rocks, having the strongest pirate crew of the time, made the perfect scapegoat. He could be accused of being a monster and no one would question it even for a second.
yeah, especially since back then, they made it look like rocks and his crew attacked some celestial dragons and garp and rodgers intervened, not only was that not the real issue, but the celestial dragons themselves were committing mass murder, rocks would actually look like a hero in front of the victims.
I did believe that what Rocks wanted to do with the Celestial Dragons may sound noble & good, I don't think that he really had any intentions to save the slaves. Which may be the reason why Gloriosa, WB, and the other Rocks Pirates didn't try to vanquish the world nobles on their capitan's behalf.
If Xebec is still alive then it is possible we have met him at some point and did not know it. They have not shown his face and it would be funny if it is a character that is so unlikely to be a threat but is actually much more dangerous than you think. For example it could be Kureha as someone who might be Xebec or even a member of Xebec's crew. She knew about the will of D and she is much strong than she appears. She is also able to live for a long period of time despite being human. It is possible it is because she is a doctor or it might be because of an entirely different reason. Again it is an example but Oda has a habit of introducing us to characters that do not seem important but turn out to be much more important down the line.
What if xebec is the mayor of windmill village the whole time. The government never goes there and garp looks over it and can also hide him like he did ace

Ace never met his father, Rogers. Remember, Rogers was executed near his birth. Ace was raised by Garth. Garth most likely told Ace of Rogers' exploits, but being a marine just stated the bad things.
Dragon probably left the marines because of what he found out about God's Valley. He probably was a teenager or maybe an adult at that time.

I don’t believe Xebec was a great guy im pretty sure he’d be the type of guy who would wipe out anyone in his way. He was probably there for the fruits for his crew and to cripple the nobles by eliminating as many celestial as he could but would be more than with unaliving anyone in his way and apathetically ended the lives of civilians in his way.

I genuinely want to watch the show but I don’t know what to watch. As in where are the filler episodes, are there any episodes that are “skip able”, where do the movies come in and when to watch them, also this might just be a preference but is there a “remastered” version of the first season(s) I’m just not a big fan of the old animation style but if not I can still watch just curious?
Just start with the anime and movies are not related with the anime you can just skip movies and watch them after caughting upto onepiece and search on google for onepiece filler list.
To give Garp and the Marines credit if recent events are anything to go by even the Fleet Admirals are often kept in the dark about what the Celestial Dragons are up to outside of "blockade and protect this area at all costs" outside maybe a few chosen units that I imagine serve as an elite of honor guard directly under the Knights. And it seems like following God Valley these types of tournaments have not been an on going feature, u winder if Roger and Garp leverages their salvation of the nobles and their new found fame to force their hand in putting an end to these tournaments.

It does not mean that new evils will not ermerge to try to take over the one evil in charge. Xebec was just another evil trying to destroy the World Government, the one in charge, and become the new evil in charge of everything. That is also Black Beards' plan.

I still like the theory that Xebec is still alive and is the man frozen alive in Impel Down. Its a stretch I know, including the fact the world government would execute Rogers and Ace but not a pirate like Xebec doesn't make sense, but it feels right to me. What a potential living Xebec might do in the story I have no idea, whether we would alley himself with Dragon or just be another enemy like Kaido and Big Mom idk.

Maybe Rocks D Xebec and the Rocks pirates went out of control and just started killing indiscriminately without thought for who they were victimizing. So although The Rocks Pirates were in the right for stopping God Valley, they were also in no better than the celestial dragons for blindly killing just the same. So to let the two mutual evils kill each other wouldn't have bothered Garp, however when Roger was involved, who was evil in his mind but good in the eyes of the people, he had to put a stop to him.
