I too have a pet peacock 🦚 that I rescued and in the winter he comes in to the out house in the winter at night! The circles on the feathers are called eyes. Beautiful to watch x

What a beautiful painting Michelle!! My sometimes overly developed sense of curiosity had me looking up how many tail feathers a peacock has. So let me bore you all for a moment LOL! I was actually surprised that there was a definitive answer. They have an average of 200 tail feathers which are shed each year and regrown on a regular basis. This is a very fortunate thing, otherwise humans would be killing them get those feathers. They can just be picked up off the ground. They can live to be 20 years old, they can, in fact fly. Can't tell a peacock from a peahen until the male starts to grow his tail feathers at about 6 mos. old. Due to certain breeding practices, there are also pure white peacocks! In medieval days they were a roasted delicacy, but people no longer eat them as a rule.

The Cleveland Zoo used to have a few peacocks that were allowed to roam free. They were actually pretty friendly birds. I've loved them ever since.
