Not immersive, as a kid I didn't notice that the cauldron for potions was there and had to kill the snake with one hit KO, because I had so little health and no potion :D Very fun run to watch, thank you for uploading these to youtube!
Oh wow that sounds like actual torture. I still think that the basilisk is quite a difficult bossfight without any potions as backup, especially for kids...
As a kid I always did the spell challenges twice, and the first time (in which I tried to discover/collect everything) _immediately_ after the second (in which I tried complete them as quick as possible) (also (but not only) to get as much time in the bean bonus room). So even back in the day I was a completionist (very patient) and tried to work through things slow (methodical) but steady to get the most out of the game. It's interesting to see how people differ in that respect since most players in my perception rush through games and do not pay attention to detail very much. Not to say that I have something against that/them, but it's just very different compared to how I am (and completionists in general are) as a player. Speedrunning on the other hand is a whole different category, which I do really enjoy watching (not doing myself though since I hate the 'fight (stress) with time', which reminds me too much of ordinary life lol).
I can relate to that a lot actually. Speedrunning really is the only time when I can leave collectables/currency/secrets behind and just rush through the story. Casually I love to take my time and find every little thing hidden in the level. Maybe not on the same level of completionist but every collectable I see I will usually get :D
@@Nixxo I am not into the Lego games myself, but I have watched part of them and yeah collecting everything seems (is?) impossible (maybe intentionally/because this is not the main point idk), which I also don't really like. But is there also a consequence of that (missing a lot of stuff) in these games? In HP2 for example there is a clear benefit of collecting/discovering stuff as early as possible (and this is also true for games that work with experience systems), but also a downside since often you miss a spell or two before you can fully exhaust a secret area you found (so backtracking is required). For me the benefit is larger than the cost though and I have a relatively good memory, so I prefer to do stuff as early as possible and then to come back later. Some people choose to do everything (all exploration) at the end of the game, after having completed the main storyline, but I don't really like doing that since then (in the 'endless day') there is not a real forward drive/push anymore (I therefore prefer exploring in bits and pieces (and as early as possible) between the main story segments, which further builds excitement/hype for them because I have to 'wait' a little before I 'can' continue).

1:29:00 Okay, i have to say it... Kids are not that stupid, they aren't smart, but not that stupid, a kid would have recognize the ingrediant for the potion and try to get it the first time he saw those propes appearing to him.
So a bit of a story about when i was a kid, im a left handed, so playing with ASDW with a mouse is a no go, it's super uncomfortable, so imagine my surprise when on this games i didn't needed to open the configuration and change it for it... Later on i learn that i should change A and D with the left and right keys if i wanted to play the game and move well.
8:23 As an 8 year old i did that all the time jumping on the chest... Because why not? Also it may give me what's inside there faster... Imagine my scare to sh-tless when Peeves comes out of one and begins attacking me... That's when i stop doing that...
Nice category. It reminds me how i played when i was 6 years old lmao and i was struggling to beat the forest and chamber of secrets being really low on hp and also i didn't find all cards bcs I didn't know where were are)))
Don't want to flex, but as far as I know, I looted Dumbledore's office casually completly first try. Kinda weird but have to say I played it half your speed even in this run so... :D
That is honestly a very fair flex, I doubt many people can say that of themselves! It's so mean that triggering the wrong cutscenes sends you straight out lol
@@Nixxo it's the academy's dicission not mine sorry. You know I was joking right that joke is from American dad where The main character revels that he is bald and the hair he has on his hair is a wig so his son takes it to show to the wife and the son makes that joke
Ohh I like that idea quite a lot actually. I haven't done a speedrun with the arrow keys yet I believe. The only annoying thing would be that strafing wouldn't be possible and that sounds like a pain :D

Lego Speedruns still hurt me though, so many studs that just go to waste...

I was scared of him too. I even had a nightmare once where he knocked me down a tower.
Peeves is honestly the worst... Got me every time as a kid because they put him into such random unrelated chests throughout the game...
