Geez...What a shallow and vague interview! every time the reporter asked a genuine question she kept saying that's not what we're here to talk about when it is obviously what people want to know. How did she manage to stay with this man... believe him and/or forgive him? Or maybe she had to forgive the public and the women who accused her husband ...? That is where she could have shared about her supposed journey with God and how God helped her to do that. BUT Clearly she's there to sell a book because she kept wanting to go back to the topic of the book. That is not how a Christian operates!! A newly born again Christian mentions the word sin and how we are all sinners and we all deserve forgiveness and she would have put herself in that category and included her husband but instead she's in such denial. You don't just find God to help you sell a book Julie! People can find peace in many other ways and that is not the Biblical reason for accepting Christ.. I can't believe she sat there with a serious face and tried to deny the me too movement and pretend that her husband was not a part of that. Just because she is able to live with what happened in her public life and to somehow choose to believe that her husband is innocent doesn't mean she knows God... she could also be smoking something that makes her relax she could also be taking meds!! Some people can create a sense of Peace just by believing an outright lie as long as they believe it strongly enough. For her to try and sell God as an antidote to her crazy private life is wrong! What a shame and a wasted interview..Smh.

Your points are valid. Two things came to mind however. The alleged activities of her husband occurred before they got together; her response would have looked different if he was doing those things while married to Chen. Second, there could be legal limits on what she is permitted to say about the matter. Anything anyone says can be used in court for example if there were charges brought against him.

Christianity has a long history of abuse, from Aboriginal Industrial/ Residential Schools to the Irish Laundries, to the current predation by the Catholics, Baptists, LDS etc.... Lori Vallow, Josh Duggar, Ruby Franke. etc.
Crime & other wrongdoing by the church is offloaded, and the victim is told it was their fault. So is any of this really a surprise that Julie refuses to get real, but turns to religion?

Her husband was accused of some horrific, violent actions against women, and three of the women he admitted to having a relationship with. Also, he and CBS execs paid off a police captain to conceal the allegations. How can she be in such denial? I think it was quite manipulative (on the side of Julie Chen Moonves) to have this interview be with JuJu Chang). I think she was hoping that JuJu wouldn't address it at all because she knows that JuJu most likely has admired her career as one the first (after Connie Chung) and far too few asian women in broadcast journalism. I'm glad JuJu still addressed the scandal surrounding her husband - who has a long, well documented history of awful behavior towards women and people of color.

It demonstrates real arrogance to deflect very important questions when her own husband began an affair with her while he was still married to his wife, Nancy Moonves. Julie and Les's marriage began as an affair, and I don't believe for a second that he is innocent. God isn't going to protect you from the ugly truth of your husband's character, you just carefully craft a safe bubble around yourself called "religion" to avoid the pain.

I may be reading between the lines, but it sounds to me like she questioned her husband and she knows him so yes or no, she’s aware. I’m with her; I would be telling my kid the same. Believe none of what you hear, family business stays home. Assuming she has found Christ, she’s right to stay with her husband and she’s right to be hyper-focused on who she can really trust, God. Julie, no, talking about the scandal or the “me too movement” IS NOT getting off track. You are pitching a book that came about and is directly tied to those issues. Stop playing naive, superior and condescending. You wanted the book, so you’ve gotta do the leg work. This includes talking about WHY this book came about.

It doesn't seem genuine and she is not being honest with herself about this whole situation. Also i don't believe she was forced off The Talk, she chose to quit so she could avoid being confronted by her co-hosts about how she could stand behind somebody like that when she herself was outspoken about other folks being accused of similar things

If anything, Julie is an influence on her husband and son. Too many families don’t stay together to work thru crises-leading to more brokenness. Families give up when things get tough. I commend her and respect her even more. Juju is an incredible journalist; love her interviews. She digs but she respects boundaries. Something many in the business don’t do

I would love to believe her, but when she sidestepped perfectly understandable questions, it makes me question her sincerity. There's just something about her demeanor that makes me to not believe her. Like she's not being truthful enough.
I don't think the interviewer was asking about the truthfulness of the allegation's for gossipy or press reasons. Anyone would want to know if it's true. Even if it IS true, she could explain how her family is working through it with the help of her faith.
It just left a bad taste to me that she said "we're not here to talk about that", etc.

She makes it clear she doesn't want to talk about it, but if she were the reporter she was prior she would have asked those uncomfortable questions. She may be using religion to help her deal with the pain her husband has caused, but she also needs to address the women who have made the claims or read their information on their claims against her husband for her own freedom. Maybe they aren't true maybe they are, but as any women knows she needs to confront it.

Julie Chen missed an opportunity to exercise her faith, i.e. demonstrate how God has helped her to forgive her husband. Failing to speak candidly about the very thing that led her to God makes one question the authenticity of her journey.
That being said, I don’t believe that the public is entitled to an answer to every question especially when it relates to people/ behaviours she has forgiven. However, as a Believer, she has a responsibility to those to whom she speak and wishes to reach, to provide an explanation for her refusal to speak on any matter.
For eg. When you forgive someone for wrongs they’ve committed, you may choose to never speak of it again and wipe their slate clean (the way God does with us when we seek His forgiveness), but you ought not to evade the question without explanation. It suggests that you have yet to heal and you’re probably not yet in a space to offer guidance on spirituality.

If you can forgive your husband for sexually assaulting over a dozen women, more power to you. To then make a statement saying that you told your child that those claims are false, and then use the Lord to try and revamp your image is exactly why a lot of people think Christian’s and religion is hogwash. The hypocrisy, and then these fake Christian’s using the Lord to try and dodge avoid responsibility is insane. She may have forgiven him, but it doesn’t even sound like that, she’s saying he is innocent so this isn’t even about forgiveness. It’s sad to see where she is now, I hope that she really is finding God and he gives her what she’s looking for, because this interview showed she hasn’t found it, even if she thinks she has.
