I've tried replacement foams from two different places and they both seem far too thick to me - it digs into my the back of my legs, which makes it less comfortable than the old battered one! Yours seems the same. I'm just not sure there's supposed to be that much of a hump, it really looks like it's stretching the seat webbing more than it should. But I've never seen a brand new Aeron up close so I don't know, maybe they all start like that.

I just bought a refurbished Aeron from an official reseller. It comes with a brand new foam which is way too thick and dense. After suffering thigh pain for a week I decided to completely remove the foam without replacing it. Works much better for me !

they eventually gets compressed and the bump goes away after using the chair for a while.

did you peel off the 3m sticker? I heard it'd be extremely difficult to push it in with the sticker peeled off

BOTD replaces that foam via taking the seat mesh out

Just take the foam out, period. It's more comfortable without it. This is what they did for the new version of the Aeron.

I just bought a refurbished Aeron and my legs were hurting at the spot of the foam. After reading this comment, I ripped the foam out. It feels so much more comfortable! Thanks!

just bought my replacement foam. Does it feel slightly annoying on the underside of your thighs? I kinda prefer the flatness of the old foam piece..

The foam will be nasty so ditch it and either use it without it or get a new one.
