Usually for Schengen visa, sponsorship from immediate family members (parents/siblings) works the best. In case of getting a sponsorship, you will have to include financial proof of the person sponsoring your trip with sufficient bank balance. Along with that get the sponsorship letter as well from them to be attached with application. Ideally yes, you should book your dummy flight tickets close to appointment date. You can opt for longer period dummy tickets.
