WACA retired in 2017-18 after Ashes Test. Now it's used for Sheffield Shield and Practice games purpose.
@@DineshChoudhary-kd6gv Can you please elaborate why it was retired from services ?? I mean it was one of the greatest grounds in the world of cricket. Was it retired only because of its sitting capacity of just 20000 ???
@@harshtrivedi125Yea sitting capacity plus it was an open stadium without modern amenities . Spectators were finding it difficult in the searing heat.
Due to capacity (would only fit about half of the crowd the scorchers get at a good game) and amenities for fans (shade, seating, food toilets etc). Built the new stadium for the AFL matches but made it multipurpose. I would like to see WACA used for tests though
