Due to capacity (would only fit about half of the crowd the scorchers get at a good game) and amenities for fans (shade, seating, food toilets etc). Built the new stadium for the AFL matches but made it multipurpose. I would like to see WACA used for tests though

Like the true pace and bounce of this Optus Stadium. It's getting quicker as time passes on but it's still nowhere close to WACA. WACA pitch was so hard that Tony Greig's famous key refused to go in but by Day 5 in test matches, it was a nightmare for the batters to play on.

WACA retired in 2017-18 after Ashes Test. Now it's used for Sheffield Shield and Practice games purpose.

@@harshtrivedi125Yea sitting capacity plus it was an open stadium without modern amenities . Spectators were finding it difficult in the searing heat.
