See.. the comparison is much clearer now because this time there is no software compatibility advantages unlike in the previous videos where the Xiaomi 14 suffers most because of the apps that not yet really optimized with the phone... App optimization on phones plays a big role also.. because even if your phone has the highest of highest chipset, it would still lag/fps drop if that software hasn't optimized to that phone By the way, Xiaomi should fix their thermal.. and they should be fine Great video! Keep it up! 👍
That's a very good point. As festive time ls are approaching and just a few months prior S24U, mobile operators and others will seduce customers... to trade in or replace their old phones. S23U would be a top choice for price vs value at the moment if you can get it at a reduced price.

I don't think you should mess with the thermal management of the s23U. I think you should leave it on the default settings and the device will behave much better because is it designed and tested in that way.
Trust samsung knows what they are doing. They specialize in balanced performance . The Ui as well as clock speed has everything to do with performance.

Hi, been recommended to your channel from Dame and got some question regarding your testing. Is there any particular reason of testing while having device backed against a solid surface? Curious since I think doing this way is quite adverse for heat dissipation and performance of devices since it essentially mean heat can no longer escape from backside of the phone. Sry in advanced if u got your own reason, curiosity got the better of me since your testing is very different from the other reviewers. (edit: referring to gaming test, not really towards benchmark test since most reviewers test benchmark run while placing the phone down anyway)
@@GlennL42 Also another thing, those phones (except S23U) have huge camera bumps, they just can`t lay flat... on a surface :) Wiggle a lot, but they are able to ventilate...
The only difference is that xiaomi is allowing the cpu to run hotter, which is fine as long as the is not too hot to the touch. Thermal management seems good because the 14pro isn't hotter than S23U. However the thermal throttle is too heavier. S23U early thermal throttle ended up being a better approach for the long run.
Yeah, I was kinda expecting 14Pro to kill the S23U in that scenario, but surprisingly it ended up the other way. Xiaomi is stronger for the first few minutes, but who plays for just 10mins? Also in regards to the thermals....i can't see the Gen3's alleged advantage in efficiency? I don't know, I wonder if to bother at all to switch from S23U to S24U...

Correct. And better thermal management for the longer run will get us better sustained performance and the end. I will always chose optimal sustained performance over raw peak performance.
Xiaomi is running it on dark night mode Samsung running it on day mode which is more demanding. Still 8gen3 should be better but i think Xiaomi aint that good with heat management
No? Because 8gen3 draw about 30% more power draw at hard usage? Light apps fine better then 8gen2 but what about games? S23ultra can 6h sot hard games/4k video. Xiaomi? After 10-15minutes trottling and 4h sot..😂
If we look closer and want to judge fairly about gaming performance for Xiaomi in general, we should play on game turbo on Xiaomi... Because now you tested the performance of the game on Xiaomi while it's on standard level and did better for 15 minutes of playing... If you want really fair competition you should let game turbo doing his job And I'm sorry to tell you that you're not fair to do this test without game turbo But I like Ur videos
