I don't know, it feels more inspired than ripped-off to me. Plus, the splat is not the same shape and it does not have the same animation. The Splash! Productions logo starts with the ball animation which makes an oddly-shaped red splat with the word Splash! in Balloon font. They only ripped-off the font, not the whole thing.
