Warlock's Staff gains stacks from taking damage from minions and gods as well as dealing damage. So it could have just been from being hit by the minions or a combination of both the scepter dealing damage and him taking damage. Hard to know really.

Bro release re worked minions completely dominated. Before the nerf they had 10x the body count than the gods combined. I absolutely hated that change.

Well your not far away from the best build possible for some mages
Focus gem % damage work with items procs . The only other stat it work with is pen .
Making the focus gem enhance tablet and soul gem to a point where morgan lefay and tiamat can't no longer be out damaged + tablet does between 120 and 150 each procs its far better than soul eater coz soul eater have a huge diminishing retur
