TRIP REPORT | First Time on ITA Airways A350! | Los Angeles to Rome | ITA Airways A350

- ITA Airways Trip Report flying from Los Angeles to Rome-Fiumicino onboard one of the ITA Airways Airbus A350 on a beautiful spring day.
An extremely comfortable flight from Los Angeles to Rome onboard the ITA Airways A350. The flight was around 75% full but still, we were lucky enough to get the 3 seats in the row for us! So we basically had a little bed during the flight while flying in economy class.
After a very nice planespotting session at Los Angeles airport, we boarded the ITA A350 that would take us to Rome-Fiumicino. We took off, not on time but ahead of the schedule, towards the Pacific Ocean. We made a more than 180° turn over it and started our route to Rome. We flew over Los Angeles, the San Bernardino Mountains, the Mojave Desert, Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon park. We then continued during the Sunset all the way towards Canada.
During the night, while flying between Canada and Greenland we even were able to see the Borealis! The polar lights were just out there! Beautiful! I went then back to bed until the Sunrise. This was over the Atlantic, with a full silence in the cabin. What a moment! :)
We then flew over Ireland and the UK, before entering Europe mainland. The views of Paris were just perfect, clearly seeing the Arc of Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. From there we flew in an almost direct course to Rome across the Alps. The views of Geneva and all the Alps until reaching Turin were really stunning! We landed in Rome well ahead of the schedule.
The onboard service was quite ok. The dinner served just after takeoff, was pretty good. Everything was tasty and the beef was particularly good. The breakfast however... on a 12-hour flight you expect a second warm meal... it was something warm, but was just a piece of cake with a pack of cookies... Although it was clearly below expectation, it was compensated by a very good flavor.
Although ITA Airways may not be the best on anything, I liked everything about them: from the beautiful livery to the Italian ambient onboard, going through the tasty catering, or the classic and fresh cabin. It's 100% sure that I will repeat with ITA Airways.

Love ITA Airways. Incomparable Italian style savoir faire. Always professional, very empathic personnel from the airport to the cabin. In Miami at the check-in counter the ITA personnel was the only sight of smile in the whole building.

I flew on ITA before and I had a little bit of a missed flight and lost baggage issue in Rome, but despite that, the flight attendants were amazing and the service was excellent

Oh boy this is one super video, very well done. I feel like I actually travelled to Italy without leaving home. ITA does have beautiful planes with what looks like great service on board. I watch Cali Planes livestream and we always marvel at and wait for the beautiful blue ITAs. 💙💙💙💙

I did that last year in September both to and from. I was way early, but was the first checked in and excited to be going back to Italy. Service was fine, food was fine, seat was fine, entertainment was fine. It is also nice that there is a direct rail line from FCO into Roma Centrale, even if it is rather slow, like we were going 5 kph at some points. Exited the train station and walked 500m to my hotel. Spent time in Rome and then Florence, and stayed overnight at a hotel near FCO for my flight home the next day. A great 3 weeks.

Omg Lucas You have had some beautiful trips but this one really tops it for me😊.I have watched a couple of times for this one as there was so much to take in✈After your take off from Lax the different terrains were out of this world. You really did an excellent job here, and I was totally impressed! You gave us exactly the right amount of information, told clearly and concisely.
The A350 is one of the few aircraft that I have not yet experienced, but I certainly look forward to flying on one. Your experience looked good overall, combined with the ITA flight service.
You're so right about passengers not appreciating their geographical surroundings! They may never pass that way again, and yet generally they are so disinterested - much preferring to indulge in the in-flight entertainment or their own devices. Such a shame!
By the way, what stunning and surprisingly clear views of Paris and the other landmarks. I was amazed at the amount of detail. You obviously have good camera equipment... along with great editing skills!!

Oh yes! Very beautiful plane.
Service seems great.
The plane spotting part I enjoyed very much because that terminal seems to get those big jets pretty close.
I really think the International Terminal at LAX is the best planespotting point I've seen so far in any airport in the world. The airplane variety is huge (both models and airlines) and the huge windows allow everything. :)
Absolutely the best livery at the moment..plus i really love this plane! I had the pleasure to fly with ITA to Buenos Aires two times with this plane and it was very good for me! Thank you for this trip report, i love your channel and your work! Keeep going like this!
