This DaVinci Resolve macro can transforms your ordinary media into captivating paper fold animations.
The in and out transition was crafted using authentic photographs of crumpled paper combined with a stop motion effect
Whether you’re working with images, logos, or green screen videos, this powerful tool lets you seamlessly integrate realistic paper effects:
- Green Screen Media: Choose whether you want to replace the green background with a paper texture or cut out the object and add a torn paper edge.
- Logo or PNG image: Create unfolding paper logo reveal with realistic paper border
- Standard Image/Video: Choose the horizontal, vertical, or square mask to fit your media.

I have a video clip with a transparent background that I've pre-comped and the dang thing keeps vanishing whenever I apply the Unfold Paper Animator. I've watched this entire video and can't seem to figure out why my video keeps disappearing.
Try using on a green screen and then removing it
@@templatesdavinciresolve No Dice, still not working. Ok, now I'm trying to use it on a NON TRANSPARENT video clip and it just makes my entire screen turn black for the duration of the transition. This is just a normal video file and I'm using default transition settings per your video's instructions. I tried re-installing the transition, because it was working last night, but for some bizarre reason I just can't get it to do anything today. Did I maybe save the assets to the wrong folder during re-installation? And if so, what's the correct folder that I should be saving the transition files to? Is it sufficient that I just click the DRFX file or is there something else I'm supposed to be doing? I'm using a PC, so I've also placed the "Unfold Paper Animator (LLMotion)" into the following folder: "C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Fusion\Templates\Edit\Transitions".
I have a deadline for tomorrow morning and really want to use your video effect but I'm really struggling to get it to work!
Ok, so I'm able to get the Transparent image clips to work but I have to open the effect up in Fusion and re-add my chosen clip as a media input over a merge node. Weird but all's well that ends well.
