I know that Whitney sang it sooo monunentally, but I always thought Dolly focused more on the lyrics while singing, making the song more touching, being so vulnerable in it. Whitney’s version is all about her voice and hitting THAT NOTE, Dolly’s version is about love ❤

They shouldn't be compared but rather just enjoyed individually cause each singer made the song their own and completely different. both versions were magic. And dolly and miley together, with their songs mashed up together was also magic.
