My dear goans portuguese was left beautiful houses, for goans. You can sell your houses for indians Or foreigner but dont sell your houses to lamanis.

Two mistakes: (1) The Portuguese left Goa in 1961, NOT 1967. (2) There was NO law prohibiting the painting of houses white. The only law was that in cities you had to paint the outside of your house - white or coloured, made no difference - every year. If you didn't, the municipality would paint it and charge you. The logic being that the exterior of your house had an effect on the aesthetics of the city and the community as a whole.
