Congratulations on the 500th video! And Happy Birthday to Sir Humphrey! An interesting character and a great scientist. One of his greatest achievements beyond his scientific inventions and discoveries was his popularising science - he instigated the Royal Institution lectures which still happen today. I read somewhere that the missing button on his waistcoat on his statue was supposedly a subtle criticism of his wife, Jane, who was apparently more into partying than attending to "wifely duties" like making sure his clothes were in proper condition. Another rumour involving his wife: In 1813 Humphrey and his wife, along with then young apprentice Michael Faraday, travelled round Europe, including France, which we were at war with at the time - a dangerous and dodgy thing to do. But Napoleon was an admirer of Davy, and wanted to award him a medal for his scientific achievements, so they travelled to Paris to collect the gold medal before travelling to Switzerland & Italy, meeting lots of scientists on the way. The rumour was that Jane Davy didn't enjoy the trip at all, and particularly hated being in France and hated the fact that Davy had been given this medal by England's enemy Napoleon, so after Davy died, she took the medal to the causeway to St Michael's Mount and threw it into the sea. I'm sure the story is bollocks, but if ever I'm near the causeway on a very low tide I do have a wander round in case I spot a glint of gold! Many thanks for all the videos!
Well done on your 500 videos mate that wasn’t easy 😂 nice to see something going on in pz I felt it was a bit quiet though if I’m honest. You should have probably took a coat mate 😂😂

I never plan too far ahead! A coat wasn’t on my radar! 😂😂
@ I have noticed you don’t plan ahead to much 😂😂 but in your defence I reckon most people have been caught out like that before.
@@jonstephens682I tend to turn up somewhere and see how it all goes. I think the videos are a bit more natural that way.
