    Thanks so much for this video. I am considering the Vuze 3D 360 VR Camera. Your video is the first I have seen that gives a great presentation on the scope and capacity of the camera. I am encouraged to go out and make the purchase. Now searching for the best price!

    Great video - I bought the camera on the strength of it, and your guide to the editing app is awesome! Can you recommend a gimbal stabilizer that's compatible? The Moza Guru Air doesn't seem to be avialable any more.

    Hey Hugh thanks for the great video I wanted to get this camera and I wanted to use it as a dash camera you think it would be worthwhile there was another camera I had in mind but it was way too expensive : RAZO DC3000A and if I could use it for a dash camera would you be able to recommend a good Mount that I could place on my windshield otherwise no worries

    Great video ! For picture quality and relatively fast post prod workflow, which camera would you recommend ? I’m planning to do real estate photography. I already have the mi sphere, the quality is okay but not great. And I don’t want to have the hassle with a DSLR workflow. Thanks for your help

    So what is the recommendation? Is it much better than Theta V and others? What about post production effort? Thanks!

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is def better than Theta V as this is a Stereo camera - the Post is done on their own free software so it is pretty easy.

    Hello Hugh. So would this be considered 16K 2D and 8K 3D? hows the sharpness compared to Fusion? The price seems reasonable. I know you're already thinking about sticking this on a drone:) I'm also curious how the 180 3D/2D looks. Looking forward to more videos from you! PS. Is there a photo time-lapse feature for this camera?

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh no... just 4K 3D 360 - I should state that in my video. I will do a comparison between Fusion, and other cameras soon. But this camera, as you see the footage, it is very sharp in 4K. It is a US company and put lots of money and research behind Stereo (vs Fusion is only Mono), so I expect the image quality is good. But we will find out when I make the comparison.

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, gonna fly this in Stereo 3D! I will make some 180 3D when google tell me how to inject the correct meta. I don't see the timelapse feature - so I will ask them if so.

    • @markschannel6409
      @markschannel6409 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I noticed the 120 bitrate, that should help the quality but cause weaker machines to struggle but that's always the case with new tech.

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes should mention the 120mbs come with the Vuze+ - it required a U3 class V90 card but actually, the camera is super stable and raw video file is 120mbs to ensure very high video/image quality. This is actually one of the key points of this camera and I barely mentioned that... my bad.

  • @JohnFRodgers
    @JohnFRodgers 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Hugh! Here is a crazy question. Could it be possible for someone to modify a Vuze 360 to shoot 180 with all 8 cameras, and put an anamorphic 2x adapter on each lens to reduce the fov so all 8 cameras cover about 180 total? Then worry about stitching later. heh heh

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sound like way to complicated. You better off just get 2 GH5 and snap a fisheye lens on it prob do a lot better that way.

    Hugh I know I'm late to the party but I've purchased a vuze plus. I've got to buy an old Samsung phone to use it BUT I can't get the vr studio for pc anymore?
    Do you know where I can get it?

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I won't suggest to use their software - is that possible you can use Mistika VR or the Free Mistika Boutique for stitching? They capture internal mp4 right?

    • @garrygadget
      @garrygadget ปีที่แล้ว

      @Hugh Hou you are an absolute gem, looks like I'll be watching your tutorials on Mistika again.
      I used to own the vuze xr and so have no experience at using vr 360 3d video. It was a good price and in superb condition.
      Shame companies pull their pc software as even the gear action director software is available for my gear 360 cameras.
      It's nice to have a play with old kit now and then.

    I have been considering purchasing the Insta360 Pro (top of my budget range) in order to produce 3D 360° photo tours of construction sites and video tours of manufacturing plants for educational purposes (images sharpness is important to present sufficient detail to students). Would you recommend the Vuze+ over the Insta360 Pro (or even Obsidian Go) for this application - would I be getting much more for 2-3 times the price?

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. Insta360 Pro is still better in quality. But I will actually recommend you Obsidian Go b/c look like you need still more than video. Go take 8K Stereo photo with crazy good quality in DNG and possibly HDR - so for you case it is the best. Are you going to film Video as well? And what is your resolution goal? 4K? 6K? 8K? 12K?

    • @wafkt
      @wafkt 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hugh. Thank you so much for your insight. I was going to ask about the Obsidian Go - there doesn’t appear to be a lot of reviews online yet. I am definitely most concerned about obtaining high resolution (at least 8K) for 3D 360° (and mono 360°) photos for VR (and photogrammetry). 360° video is secondary; 4K is plenty.

    • @gregsonfilm
      @gregsonfilm 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I rented the Insta360 Pro to run some tests. Image quality is very good. But LOTS of connectivity issues. Also, the stitching is only acceptable when MORE than 2 meters away form the camera. Any closer to that and the stitching is painfully bad.

    My boi, Hugh! I am looking for a consumer 3D 360 camera. On Amazon and eBay, I am seeing the Vuze+ 3D 360 for $1K and the original Vuze 3D 360 for $600. In your opinion, is the Vuze plus worth $400 more than the original Vuze? This is my first step into 360 3D, and I plan to upgrade to more prosumer gear later. Thanks!!

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mmmmm... maybe an Insta360 Pro 1 is better deal if you find it on used. It is a different type of 3D you need to learn compare to the rest of the brands. It is be tough on POST. I will try VR180 first - Vuze XR is a great camera.

    • @NUMB3RL3SS

      @@hughhou Oh, okay. I have seen the Insta Pro 1 on amazon for ~$2. I watched a bunch vlogs on TH-camVR shot with the Vuze 3d360 and Vuze+ 3d360, and was unimpressed with the picture quality, except for one from CMH heli-skiing. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

    I have the old camera. What is the difference ?

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Huge different actually. Fast forward to 18:10 and see it yourself. Dynamic range is better in the new Vuze+ b/c of nicer lenses and prob nicer sensor - so you get more detail in dark and highlight - mean color grad is possible in post. Also I try to manual stitch the footage by research the raw footage without the VUZE VR studio, and there is noticeable less lens distortion in new VUZE - it means more overlap usable areas so easier to stitch or better stitch for close up in general. And possible for third-party stitch solution like Mistika - so really pushing the camera into Pro level application. But for casual filming, there is no much difference between the two. Also live stream is only on Vuze+ which will be review in the next video.

    • @art2vr465
      @art2vr465 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      As Hugh says, main advantages are sharper lenses and better quality footage, plus built in ability to live stream and individually calibrate the lens exposure and other aspects of each lens during live stream too. I just upgraded from the original Vuze, for the better quality image.

    • @tempesttraveltime
      @tempesttraveltime 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not completly true. From the VUZE FAQ:
      Can Vuze camera do live streaming of 3D 360 video?
      Vuze+ camera’s can live stream when connected to the PC, via the Vuze LIVE software. Vuze camera’s can also live stream if an independent LIVE license is purchased.
      (Haven't found out the price for the License yet.)

    • @hughhou

    • @art2vr465
      @art2vr465 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      HI, yes, 3D live streaming, depending on how your viewers consume the output of course (TH-cam, web page, etc)

  • @Autohitch
    @Autohitch 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Appears to me they spent time developing simply a consumer 3d camera without adding at all to their mono side. All that time and expense for 4k? Idk....

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mono? That is a stereo camera using stereo pair design. It provides a different type of stereo experience which has zero plate and negative space - which will have stronger than normal stereo effects. Stereo 4K meaning 4K X 4K so in theory, it need to pack 8K mono data in it - so that is why the resolution is not as high as a mono camera... if that makes sense. Stereo won't show advantage until you watch this in a VR headset - then you will prob want to go Stereo even it is lower res... b/c it closer to reality.
