- Austrian trip report from Vienna to Frankfurt in what I think it is the absolute best economy class in Europe. The flight was operated on an Airbus A320.
In my opinion, they have everything you can expect in an Airbus A320 economy class: amazing legroom, good catering, comfortable seats, beautiful cabins... This flight was made with 2 cameras in 2 different seats. Hope you will enjoy it!

I would love to fly in one of those Boeing 747! But the prices are, as always, out of my range (at least for now). I'm planning a trip to New York with Norwegian since they have really low prices( like 139 €uro one way!!). Let's see what I can do... :)

Of the ones i have flown Austrian takes the cake, LH second
On 2:30h+ flights, Lufthansa is great, as they offer youa hot meal (or they used to do it, I don't know if they are still doing it).
Austrian Airlines is definitely my favorite airline. I flew this line from Berlin to Vienna (OE-LBO) and from Vienna to Cairo (OE-LBM). My return flight was from Cairo to Vienna (OE-LBD) and from Vienna to Berlin (OE-LDD). The food was delicious, very nice crew and very gentle landings. I can definitely recommended this line. Thank you very much for your movie :)
Well, they don't have this service any more... For me they are just another airline in Europe. They went from the best economy class to just another one... =(

Lo que pasa es que el aeropuerto de Viena está teniendo un enorme creciemiento y en "horas punta" se queda un poco escaso de pasarelas.

Hello Lucas.Wonderful video my friend.I have been to Vienna in 2010 with Aegean.I still remember this flight because I flew with Aegean's Star Alliance livery.I don't know if Austrian has the best economy class in Europe.You should try Aegean sometimes.I tell you this because I returned from Vienna with them and the service was poor and the cabin crew were not very polite.I remember we asked for a cup of water for my son and I asked them three times until they brought it..Not very professional..Maybe thay have changed or maybe the crew in our flight weren't very nice.That double camera was a nice feature.Cheers

He volado Austrian una vez en el trayecto LCA-VIE-LCA en 2010, tanto la compañía como el aeropuerto, la cuidad y el país son muy agradables Cuando pruebas Turkish, seria muy interesante ver el reporte, tengo muy buena experiencia con ellos y muchos recuerdos de la época que me tocó volar con ellos frecuentemente. Espero que algún día podrías aceptar el reto de probar El Al, eso si que es una experiencia ;) suerte y buen viaje

Hermoso trip, me gusta mucho Austrian, te puedo hacer una pequeña fe de erratas?, me parece que el vuelo de ANA que aparece en el minuto 02:07 es un B789 con rumbo a Tokyo Haneda. Parece que tenías mucha hambre???, jajajaja tremendo desayuno !!!, pienso que estás volando en Europa, así que los precios puede que estén un poco inflados, no obstante día tras día Chile se acerca mas a la carestía de los paises desarollados. Personalmente no compararía ese desayuno jajaja !!. Que hormosos países Austria y Alemania, he estado varias veces por esos parajes, me pregunto que pensará la gente cuando ve a personas como nosotros tomando fotos ya que para la mayoría de la gente un aeropuerto y un avión no son mas que esos per para nosotros los "locos" por la aviación es pasión. Me gustó mucho tu planespotting en FRA, que aeropuerto mas movido, super entretenido, jajajaja !!!, Te puedo contar algo mi estimado amigo?, resulta que el 29 de septiembre parto a Europa literalmente a volar, en 7 días haré las sgtes rutas: SCL-MAD en Iberia A346, MAD-HAM en Iberia A320 o A319, luego viajo desde HAM-STR en Eurowings A319, luego STR-HAM Eurowings también A319, al dia sgte, hago mi vuelo tan esperado y espero que sea así de entretenido, HAM-INN en Transavia, ojala que aterrice por la pista 26 para ingresar al valle del Tyrol por el este, luego al dia sgte. hago INN-VIE en Austrian DH8 o A319 o E195, en la tarde luego vuelo otro esperado por mi VIE-PMI en Eurowings A319, quería hace tiempo volar esa ruta atravesando los alpes y luego sobrevolando la costa mediterránea como tu lo hiciste una vez hacia Palma también en un trip. luego al dia sgte. vuelo PMI-CGN en Ryanair, que sería la primera vez probando esta low cost, en la tarde CGN-CPH también en Ryanair, estoy 2 días en Copenhague conociendo (a propósito creo que no te he visto en ningún trip hacia CPH, que te parece la idea? jajajaaja), luego el 6 de octubre otro viaje para mi emocionante, en la aerolinea que me re-encanta Norwegian desde CPH-LGW y luego en la noche ya emprendo el viaje de regreso a casa en Norwegian Air UK en un B789 en la ruta LGW-EZE, luego en la tarde emprendo el ultimo y emocionante vuelo desde EZE-SCL en Air Canada B789, eso sería todo. Disculpa la lata que te he dado, pero yo se que tu me entiendes este hobby. Felicitaciones mi estimado y volador amigo, me regustó tu trip, que buenos recuerdos de VIE. Saludos desde SCL-SCEL.

On such a short hop, it's hard to rate any airline as the "Best Economy Class in Europe", but it looked like a comfortable trip.
It was a very comfortable fmight yep. I'm asking about the economy class for European flights. Probably I should have been more specific on that.

The Opel Arena at 13:38 is the football stadium of 1. FSV Mainz 05, which plays in the 1. Bundesliga. Currently at the 18. and last in that divison.

Those 767s' are nearly 30 years old but are comfortable.
Their cabins were updated last year (as far as I know) and they look like new for costumers! That's great! :)

I think you should go with FHD option. In UHD stabilisation is not so good. I am sure that u will get better stabilisation on FHD when u walk

In my opinion, there used to be nothing special about Austrian Airlines. At least not in a long while. As others already said, Vienna being a low-cost heavy airport, horrible seat pitch etc.
Interesting air Canada parking position on that day. They usually park on the south side.
Not anymore. These days a very tight 28-inch pitch in economy within Europe. Vienna airport full of low-cost carriers now. Got to compete

Austrian used to have a great product... now they decided to lower it to comepete... instead of comepting in quality, they decided to compete in price, something that they just can't do.

Remember that you're watching a video from even before the pandemic. Particularly, from the summer 2019. The pre-order service and the onboard experience at the moment were among the best in Europe. For sure yes.
At the moment, autumn 2023, that's far from being the same, as they rank now as one of the worst.
Remember, this flights was in August 2023. So pandemic is no excuse!
14€ Plus to the ticket price for each route for sitting on A320s Garden chair is also a crime. Also again nix with pandemic.

Para comprobar que funcionan antes de despegar. Lo hacen 2 veces porque una es con los controles del comandante y otra con los del primer oficial.

No se a qué te refieres con buena o mala. Desde mi punto de vista es una compañía perfectamente válida para cualquiera de las rutas que opera. Siempre que he volado con ellos he tenido buenas experiencias.
Precisamente este sábado subo un vídeo con Vueling. Para hacerte un mejor idea que esperar, puedes verlo! El sábado a las 10am hora peninsular! :)

It's the best Economy class within the Lufthansa Group, but I wouldn't call it the best European one. Aegean for example still offers a better product with a proper meal for no additional money.

So in what way would this be the best economy class in Europe? What criteria do you apply? And on such a short flight? Sorry, this is ridiculous. Clickbaiting that's all.
Well, first of all, the title is a question, is not an affirmation.
Now, I show in the video all the criteria that I use to ask directly if the viewer thinks that this can be the best European economy class (as it was awarded by Skytrax): legroom, catering service, cabin, ontime performance, crew friendliness, functionality of their main HUB (Vienna) airport... I think this video is anything but clickbait.
For the last years its been spread that clickbait is something good for the creators in TH-cam. There's nothing worse than a clickbait title or thumbnail with a video content that doesn't deliver what promised. TH-cam will stop immediately promoting your video. That's why, at least me, I avoid always clickbait.

Austrian is some sort of average. Going back in time, until 2016 British Airways or even WizzAir was much better in service quality and reliability than Austrian. I had once a flight cancellation with Austrian, they did not refund anything, although hotel was provided in Vienna, but not any hot food for the evening, night or breakfast. I was very disappointed.
Since then I don't fly with them. It's just not worth the ticket price. The onboard food is average, there are delays at Vienna Airport very often, the airport itself is terrible (once yu pass security you can not find any shops, you are locked into an area where you find a toilet only etc.).
Nowadays I prefer flying to Budapest or Bratislava with British Airways, LOT or Level, Ryanair, WizzAir. Austrian is not worth the money.
Well, all the times I've flown with Austrian I had good experiences.
Without wanting to be disrespectful, comparing Austrian and British Airways economy classes in European flights nowadays sounds like a joke. 😐

BS it's not the best economy class. It's like everybody elses. you get a Milka chocolate. You clearly paid 15 EU for your meal or 20. We missed the bus thank goodness. On Swiss you get a muffin or sandwich.
Well, I've asked because Skytrax named them the best Economy class in Europe last year. And I also think that they have one of the best ones. The atmosphere on the cabin is great. Even more with the classic music they use for boarding (that I can't include on the videos because of the copyright...).
Please do not use 'fast forward' during the video. I have unsubscribed from other channels because of this. It ruins the experience. Better to edit out anything you do not want to show. It is un-realistic and unpleasant t look at.

That being said, I did 2 flights with Turkish Airlines last week (trip report coming in 7 days) and it was really good, but I'm not sure if its so so good to be named the best for many consecutive years.
