I had a 3rd brake light out. The lights had burned out and I replaced them. Didn't work. No power to the lights. Checked the fuse under the hood. Power at the fuse. Took off the dome light cover. Removed the dome light assembly. Checked the wires that supply power to the 3rd brake light. Had power. The problem was corrosion at the rivets. Twist and turn the rivets several times. Voila .....power to the 3rd brake light. Had friend buttress the rivets on the brake light side with ratchet extension and hammer and punched the rivets for a better fit on the dome light side and a more permanent solution. Then just put everything back in place. Works perfect now. Hope this helps someone.

Hey, guys! What tool do you use to remove the original plastic lens? Mine is a '95 extended cab, and I just want to replace the bulbs. Phillips screwdriver is no help, and the screw heads look rusty. Thanks for advice!

Take apart the inside interior light.Then you'll see how it come out.

Definitely a old video because they do make them for extended cabs.
Video is not that old, and no, there is still not a drop in replacement LED housing for the EX Cabs. I look from time to time and have yet to find one. Only CC and single cab trucks.

You taped it?! Dude, no...
What's so bad about it? It's electrical separation and I used the correct tape. Would you rather it short out against the terminal? I would hope not.
And to answer the question you deleted/edited, yes. It's only two screws, but the LEDs run a hell of a lot cooler and stop the lenses from melting. Melting lenses are a super common problem on these trucks, I've seen them melt through and have holes in the lenses.
@@DanielPace92 What tape did you use? Is it a double sided tape?
@@thepepperlanders The black tape is just electrical tape to separate the circuit board from the connections. The red covered tape that actually holds the LEDs in is just double sided tape.
