The Geely Coolray Sport SE has been given a mild facelift for 2022, and it takes on the newer 2022 Changan CS35 Plus Hype. In this Filipino car review, we take the 2022 Geely Coolray Sport SE against the 2022 Changan CS 35 Plus Hype to see which one emerges as the value subcompact crossover champion. Can the aging 2022 Geely Coolray Sport SE keep its crown versus the newcomer, the 2022 Changan CS35 Plus Hype? The Changan CS35 Plus has received a major facelift this time around, and it now looks macho and aggressive. The Geely Coolray Sport is still the faster vehicle here, but the Changan CS35 Plus is right on its heels. The 2022 Changan CS35 Plus has a wider array of tech and safety features than the Geely Coolray Sport, and it also has more space to boot.

I picked CS35 plus against Coolray.
No regrets at all.
GOT CHANGAN and its superb.
Feature to features, the Changan CrossOver is ahead of the Geely Coolray and much cheaper and better Spec too.
Hi Sir Reygan, you didn't mention the park assist which is really helpful for seniors and some beginners, especially on tight parallel parkings. It might just be one feature, but its significance is great.
These 2 are my choices as well.

The base variant (Lite) of Changan CS35 Plus is the most bang for the buck imo.
Although it lacks curtain airbags, having ADAS, a panaromic sunroof, a meaty engine, and an enticing exterior styling is sulit for 898,000.
Though I could see why people wouldn't buy this car (not only the lite but the other variants as well) because of the red interior, but for me, that's not a problem.
the lite variant doesn't have adaptive cruise control, it does have a sunroof but not a panoramic sunroof
Got the Lite version, I don't need ADAS, besides that most features are in the Lite variant unlike the Coolray their Comfort variant lacks features, they removed a lot of features...

Thanks very much for the comparo that I have been waiting for. In addition to the CS35 Plus being a good chunk cheaper, it requires normal engine oil, while the Coolray requires 2AE-0W20 oil, that costs 6 to 7 times as much. If you use regular oil, you will not get the same KPL. That is the spec for the Middle East. Is it the same for the Philippines?

It is about time! Been waiting for this comparo since CS35 Plus came out
Awesome bit of information. I use to like the coolray, but after seeing the completion and how maybe how myy taste have matured I just see the coolray now as more for younger audience. Hence, my preference for the chery tiggo 7 pro better. Though this changan cs35 plus has been in my radar as well. We ultimately went witth the chery tiggo 8 pro, it's just a more mature and elegant looking car compare to geely offerings. Azkara is close but for a 5 seater at 1.7mil...its not competitive enough,ita probably why their okavango line is doing well since it's starts at 1.5 or less I think for a 7 seater.
Changan is more famous and saleable here sa UAE and alam nyo grabeh ang weather didto napaka extreme. Personally i have an MG ZS 2020 model and napakarami ng MG dito so for me i only rely on vehicles running and tested here in UAE

Changan CS95 is rockin in the UAE its like a Merc Coupe on a budget and it works 👍👌
I wasnt an easy win for Xhangan actually..But this new CS35 is really impressive..Potential buyers must grab this car immediately as Changan may raise the price later..
If you used the Changan CS35+ Luxe (not the mid variant), the Coolray Sport SE is behind from its specs and feautures
I agree, if he used tha Luxe version of the Changan CS 35+ , the Changan would be the winner in this comparo
But the only difference of the mid variant to the luxe

NCAP scores would be a good gauge as well when reviewing i believe CS35 has 4 stars while gcr was 5 stars. adaptive cruise was nice for cs35 while gcr was not adaptive
Love both of these vehicles but I'm still kinda levitating on the Coolray Sport in spite of being lack of safety bits, I'm more on its sporty and aggressive styling plus the engine power. Thank you sir Rey for this awesome comparo!

Kung afford naman si Ford go for Fors pero kung daily use and more safety features go for changan cs35 plus
My brother bought territory and instant regretted it. It has no good shock after a month of driving on not so smooth road the rear shock had crack. According to Ford Calamba, that part cost 15k. If you really want to buy please look for a good review and also the cons. They knew this problem persist...

I like the design of CS35+ compare to Coolray. I feel like the coolray is for younger people because of the design. CS35+ looks more elegant to me plus the added safety feature. I just don't like the color of the leather seat of CS35+. I saw in other country the leather seat is color black with red stitching and it looks really good. BUT the JAC S4 is also good.

JAC S4 is much more expensive where I live, was my first choice until I saw it was out of my budget
Well, it's just the comparo based on Reygan's opinion. Both cars are good. But does it matter to me? I don't know. I already got my Geely Coolray 2 1/2 years ago. 50k+ mileage and it still feels like brand new

Test drove both and GAC GS4. GS4 will smoke these two overall.
Among these 3, I bought the GS4.
@Rockd 6-speed Aisin Automatic Transmission (same transmission used by Japan cars like Toyota), Aisin sunroof, 4 cylinder, very comfortable ride, quiet cabin, huge amount of space, rear multi-link suspension, decent fuel consumption, powerful engine 169 hp/270nm torque, solid body, good sound system and a reliable brand. Also, GAC is manufacturing Toyota, Mitsubishi, Isuzu and Honda in China. You can ask google.
Try test driving those three cars and see it for yourself.

GS4 vs CS75 vs Azcarra should be the right comparison bec theyre in the same class. GS3 vs CS35 vs Coolray are all of the same class.

@@jpontzonpoint3319 minsan di lang nag oon yung infotainment kapag nag auto start ka galing sa labas, pero madalang, sa parts di ko po alam di pa nmn ako nagkaprob na need may palitan na parts ser hehe
@@jpontzonpoint3319 mag CS35 ka na lng sir, nka Lite ako ngayon 6mos na yung car namin at nkapag pms na ako with 12kms na ngayon, same engine lahat ng variant lakas ng hatak hehe.

CS35+ is clearly the better option between the two.
I didn't realize that Chinese cars are this prevalent in the Philippines and SE Asia. There are no Chinese cars yet in Japan, at least none that I'm aware of.
Unfortunately for Changan, you can't mod the infotainment, so no Android Auto or Apple Carplay unlike the Coolray.
It’s illogical comparing the top variant to mid variant then one of the category was its price.
only time will tell if these vehicles are reliable and have good after sales service.
Tiggo 7 pro vs cs35+ when?
I can't find any reason why a midspec variant was compared to a top tier. Or was it the lack of available unit? Next time never compare apple with and an orange.
I agree, they didn't use Changan CS35+ Plus Luxe, if they would, the Changan is way more better because of its specs and features
The only difference is the electric tailgate and two tone body so it's okay, the rest same all features.

Geely coolray engine is built based on Volvo technology. Also chassis is same as volvo cx 40
