Jhope is a god in dancing and also freestyling, you can find videos of him just freestyling (look up "Hope on the Street") and the part where he is crying was because his parents and sister send a videomessage (and he hadn't seen them in a long time).
He is a goofball and really funny but he's actually really serious too when it comes to writing and composing music and the performance, together with RM he has a leading part in the group (that's why ther are a "powercouple")

Okay BTW *note for reference* alot of the goofy dancing it is usually when guys dance to girl group songs, and girls dance to guy group songs. Its a common theme on the variety shows especially one called "Weekly Idol" they can dance to the same sex songs but more often than not the MC will play random opposite sex songs to see if they know the dances. Most groups pay attention to most of the songs and can dance to them. You can youtube them up.

Ok this is random but I’m also now beginning to learn Korean and I highly recommend using the “ talk to me in Korean “ website and they have a series of SoundCloud podcasts that’s very helpful , listen to it on your commute etc and it’s taught by natives .
