I’ve been a PROPER CLOTH customer for more than 15 years, and they have been the most consistent company I have worked with in my life Every one of my shirts, sport codes, three suits, and more than a dozen sweaters of the highest quality, especially for the price point Bravo, Seph, for creating more than a great company but a legacy in the Men's custom garment business
Thank you for sharing, Paul :) Great to hear that they kept their quality consistent for 15 years. I've only ordered twice so far and both times have been super precise on the measurements, and the fabrics are excellent.
Proper Cloth 5 Stars - I've purchased shirts, pants, pocket squares. High quality fabrics, custom fit. If you are skeptical, start with ordering an oxford botton down shirt. Great video, thank you!
Good take Lukas! I’ve been watching Proper Cloth for some time and they have come a long way. However, I do wish they would offer larger peak labels for the more sartorial of gentlemen.
You videos are always great,I just ordered my first shirt from proper cloth and even though the sleeves were tight and I have just ordered a free remake I still think proper cloth is great.
Thank you :) Yeah the first order will usually have some minor adjustments. Luckily they have such a good customer service. I hope you'll enjoy your shirt. Which one did you go for?
Great review and I agree I've been ordering from them for about 4 years now. I haven't ordered from any other online made to measure m stores after my first order with PC. The quality of their product the material and the build is really high.
I still need to give Collaro a try. Both are supposedly great at customer service, so it's a tough choice. But Collaro has more customization options for trousers, so I'd probably go for Collaro.
I have about a dozen Proper Cloth shirts and am very happy with them. For other items the style and fabric options haven't caught my attention and I find myself looking elsewhere for them.
Thank you for watching, Dennis. Great choice :) Proper Cloth definitely makes fantastic shirts. Which other company would you personally recommend for jackets or trousers?
Who do you know who loves Proper Cloth? lol. I used the smart size to start with, but going to the New York store really helped to dial in my fit. Since doing that I have had amazing results with everything I've ordered from them. Good to know about the limited options on suiting and trousers. Honestly, I don't mind the few extra dollars for mother of pearl buttons, which I almost always pay, since I think it helps keep the prices lower. I have bought some amazing cloths from them and love everything they've made, and I've now got 16 shirts form them with another 4 in my cart. You also didn't mention that when you review a cloth for the first time they give you a $5 store credit, and after you buy 10 shirts you get a $100 store credit, so there is a bit of lowering of prices for you :)
A Canadian friend of mine 😉 I can imagine that going there in person really helps. Especially with dialing in all the details. Do they also assist in the design? I think just with their more expensive shirts, $200+, it should maybe be complimentary to have mother of pearl buttons. But I had to try and look hard to find anything that could be a potential downside. I did not know about the store credit. That's fantastic. Thanks for letting me know
@@Lukas_Schanderl At $200+ they could, although the reality is that we are paying for the cloth- that's what sets the price, and that has to do with the quality of the cloth itself, rather than about the price... I'm guessing the margins are pretty thin at Proper Cloth given the quality and price. Going in person was great. Within 30' they had me all good to go. They haven't done any design work with me, but I didn't ask them to. I generally look at their recommendations for any cloth, where they have styling suggestions, and then go from there.
Do they allow choice of shirt/jacket armhole size or trouser waist height and leg opening width? These are important measurements which are usually not an option on such sites.
Thanks for watching. For the shirts, they offer 3 different armhole fits I believe, but not for jackets. I think you can decide on the pant rise, but I have to check again how precise you can get with it
Good morning Paul. I haven't been able to try Collaro yet, but they are on my list. Their clothes look amazing. I'd say based on reviews online, I'd feel more comfortable with Proper Cloth because of the way they handle the first order. In terms of quality, I'm not sure how they compare.
Hi Lukas, some time ago I told you about discount store in New York where I shop and get incredible deals on designer’s brands. Well, today I purchased several items and, to my surprise, two of them had labels that indicated “Spring 2025”. How is it possible? Could it be that they are samples? I am very happy that I am ahead of everyone else, but just want your opinion. Thank you.
@@Lukas_Schanderl it’s actually a really good brand . It would be cool if you checked them out and also maybe consider uploading shorts it will grow your channel.
They are my shirt supplier. Honestly they have so many shirt choices, that even after my 10th shirt I learned to make some tweaks. (standup placket for example). Given my love for their shirts I eagerly flew to NY to get fitted in person for a suit. Unfortunately it was a disaster, after three remakes I could never get a good fit with their suits. I am muscular build and the main issue with their suits (on me) was a low arm hole. Fortunately they refunded my money and accepted all three suits back. Shame as they are a very good company and I would have bought several sport coats and suits from them. I found another company for my suits.
Thanks for watching and for sharing your experience. That's a pity, but luckily they have such a good customer service. Which company do you use now for your suits?
@@Lukas_Schanderl Surprisingly I got a near perfect fit from a MTM Company in the USA called Indochino. They have mixed reviews at best on the internet. Perhaps I got lucky with a good local store and sales staff. I wear a 52 USA/62 EU jacket size, and a 38USA/54EU pant. If I understand my EU conversions.
I find the business model to be too complicated. One, how many shirts are you going to order ‘once they have the measurements right’? I would expect a $150 shirt to last several years. Two, measurements change. Three, it is hard to measure yourself. Four, thirty different collar types? Wow. Too confusing. But then again, off the rack fits me very well already.
I agree, it can definitely be a bit overwhelming. Mayne they could offer a simplified view as well as an advanced one. That's perfect :) For me, they hardly ever fit off the rack 😅
