I'm so glad that you reacted to this and that you're reacting to other De Staat videos. This is one of my favorite bands of all time. This song is about the 2016 presidential campaign and how nastily divided the US was and still is today. Both parties feel there right, yet there's something sinister deep down inside that only the politicians understand. Obviously the red and the blue represent the Democrats and the Republicans, and every time that color switches he's talking about that party. He said he was fascinated by that election and with US politics in general. I've watched their interviews and he is just so sweet but yet so politically and socially interested in things. And that's why all their songs are based on stuff like that. He knows how to command a presence, I hope one day I can meet Torre and the band. Check out some other songs: All is dull (laziness), Pikachu (puberty and all it's awkwardness), devil's blood (whistleblowers), and tie me down (relationships). So the song is about the political situation in the United States.

Yeah, it's about American politics from the past "orange" years. Notice the clear 'Blue' against 'Red' in the end
