This Place is Witness to another Incident. After Aurangzeb had Gone, Mughals became weak ,and then Nadir Shah of Iran (Persia) attacked in Anger to teach Muhammad Shah a Lesson when his envoy was not given time to meet Myhammad Shah. The Battle Took Place at Karnal, after Defeat Of Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah , He was arrested and Later on sent back by Muhammad Shah to go back to Delhi and Prepare arrangements to Welcome Nadir Shah at Delhi. After Muhammad Shah Reached Delhi, Nadir Shah started from Karnal and Halted at this Sheesh Mahal with his Troops before Entering Delhi. When Nadir Shah Started from Sheesh Mahal,Shalimar Bag to Lal Quila , Muhammad Shah's Army was standing both side of the way bowing Down to Welcome Nadir Shah as a New Ruler of Delhi. Though Nadir Shah Stayed only 59 Days in Delhi, His Army looted And Plundered it , Killed 50000 People, Took Away 15 Crore in Currency at That time, apart from The jewellery, Stones and Diamonds, Inculding KOHINOOR Diamond which was Placed in The Crown of Mughal King. He also Took away The Throne of Delhi Emperor which was called Mayur Sinhansan , fitted with costly stones and gems, it was Valued to Rupees 9 crore at that time. They carried all these on 300 Elephants to Iran. That was a Disaterous Time For Delhi. Nadir Shah got common People of Delhi, because he wanted to Punish people of Delhi, The background was that a rumour was floated during Nadir Shah's Delhi Stay, That Nadir Shah Got Killed. So common people of Delhi started attacking Nadir Shah's Soldiers roaming on street, Hence he wanted to teach them a lesson, He got those people arrested and got them Murdered at Yamuna Banks. Population of Delhi even at that time was 20 lac. It was bigger than even London and Paris Combined at That time also. Karwan aata gaya, aur Dilli lutati Gayee ! But Delhi always Gained back its Glory, Such were the People of Delhi
