      Thanks. I’m not a fan of reading manufacturers specs or a table review of something. That said, several years of wear and abuse can mean the item is no longer available….

    Nice review Andre. I can vouch for the Adventure 2s. Had them 12 months now, and used them in all weathers/riding scenarios. Excellent bit of kit. An example of ‘you get what you pay for’
    Keep up the good work/content mate.
    I bought a 300 Rally on the back of your reviews! 👍🏻

      Thanks, and yes, good to know the next generation are just as good when these finally wear out.

    Wonderful review! Thanks! Seems those are an excellent choice when searching for boots both for long asphalt tours and occasional light & amateur enduro riding with friends.

      Thanks. I’d quite like to try the Adventure Gore 2’s, but given that these show no signs of wearing out, I guess the 3’s or 4’s might even be available by then! 🤣
      They aren’t an enduro boot or MX, but I’ve ridden 2000km of trails in Bolivia in them, some of them Dakar stages. Not sure if that counts as occasional light & enduro riding, but I think it gave them a pretty good workout. 😉

      Thanks. I should add that after 9 years, mine now appear to no longer be waterproof. I had a day in the rain in France a couple of months ago and it’s the first time they’ve leaked. It was a miserable day though.

    Love these boots. Just got some PTFE Spray and now we're no longer Squeaky Boi ;) :D

      I was out in them again today. Close to 0C and snow everywhere. Warm enough on the bike. Grippy enough in the snow. I know there a version 2 out, but these 9 year old boots are still doing fine!

    Have the same pair, for about 120,000km, 8 years. The patches on the fronts are starting to come off, but they are still waterproof!
    The velcros work, the buckles are like new, but they still creak just as much.
    The soles have obvious wear after the pegs, but no problems at all.
    However, I am not as convinced about gen 2, but I could be wrong.
    Gen 1, 5 K60 out of 5 possible!!

      Mine started leaking 2 weeks ago. 9 years, 29 countries across 3 continents and it was a day of rain on a French autoroute that made them leak. Nothing lasts forever, not even Gore-Tex, so I guess the membrane has started to fail on mine. I’ve looked for some new ones, and the Gen2’s are 35% off at SportsbikeShop in the UK so I am tempted… many of the other similar offerings seem to be nearly double.

      @@user-mt3of9ef4e not particularly, though they aren’t vented either. I’ve never noticed them being hot if that’s any use?

    Good review mate. I bought the Adventure 2s as my first pair of touring/adventure boots and love them. The only ones that fit my feet well, they are comfortable and provide great support for my ankles during long rides. I have come off my bike a couple of times and had my leg caught underneath and my leg and ankle was protected. And yes… mine still squeak😅

    • @PeakMotorcycles

      My Adventures finally gave up the waterproofing on a very wet tour through France in May of this year. So I recently bought a pair of 2’s for my Morocco tour. They performed perfectly throughout. And yes, they squeak too! 🤣

    I have Sidi ADV II and dropped my 1250GSA on my right foot, broken. Like most ADV boots they do not have great crush support. I do love them for comfort & waterproofing. I now ride a much lighter CRF 300L so not expecting to break a foot if that drops on them :)

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ouch. I shall remember to only drop my CRF300 Rally on them and not my GS. I hope all is fixed now.

    I have wide feet. Gaerne is the widest, but they don't fit! I got Sidi Atajos and they are perfect. Also tried adventure 2s and they felt fine. As i said, i have wide feet near toes.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, I’ll look up the Atajos. I think the gore tex on my ‘Adventures has finally given up. After a day of heavy rain in France, my feet were wet for the first time. Time for new boots I think. May the next ones last as long.

    I just bought a second hand pair of these Sidi Adventure boots. Seems like they are manufactured coming up 10 years now so all the materials are roughly 8-10 years old. The plastic straps that hold the ratchet buckles tore on mine as I was buckling them up. Not the zig zag pieces that go into the flip buckle but the plastic straps that are stitched into the boot material and wrap around your foot. Not sure if these are replaceable by a shoe shop or not but just a heads up for others on buying old boots.

      Good to know. Mine are still going ok, though after a day in the pouring rain on a motorway in Northern France, mine have leaked for the first time… perhaps time for a replacement?

    I bought a pair of Adventure 2 boots yesterday and have worn them for about 12 hours. They show no signs of squeaking at all.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great. I think the squeak might come when they’ve been underwater a few times and some dust and dirt has found it’s way between the moving plastic bits. May yours be silent for a long time 😁

      @@user-mt3of9ef4e They don't seem too bad, and I wore them for 5-6 hours a day during an Australian Summer. The are comfortable enough that you can wear light-weight socks if conditions are too warm. On the other hand, they don't provide much thermal insulation in Winter, so thick socks are needed then. They are 100% waterproof though, so you you'll never suffer cold, wet feet. I rode a postie bike delivering mail around a country town, often traversing treacherously slippery ground. My Sidi's saved me from a broken ankle one morning when the bike slid on frosty grass and trapped my foot under the bike's frame.
      I consider them amongst the best purchases I've ever made.

    They don't look 7 years old - good boots. Sometimes paying extra for quality pays in the long run but equally sometimes it's just a rip off. I've had quite a few pairs of SIDI boots which have all been great, my current MX boots are SIDI. My top tip when buying gear I rely on and expect good quality is to find out where it is actually being manufactured, I notice a lot of quality brands have shifted production to China and have seen a drop in standards. I'm pretty sure Sidi still have their boots manufactured in Europe.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They clean up well. And yes, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I guess Sidi do boots and I think they make their own rather than being a brand or design that gets put on boots that other people make. I have some Crossfire 2's as well and they are great.

    Great boots , really are, but not leather so don’t waste your money on products.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, the toe (not the lever protector), the side panels under the buckles and a few other places on them look like leather? Especially when marked. Renapur seems to restore those bits quite well.
